We continue to provide highly customized learning solutions in the areas of Leadership and Management Development, Team Building/ Effectiveness, Customer Service, Salesmanship, Train-the Trainer and Presentation Skills and so much more. Our learning solutions are so customized that we in LJMB immerse ourselves in our client’s businesses through intensive Diagnosis and Needs Analysis activities that include not just the usual interviews, FGDs and surveys but extensive field work/ on site observations of participants in action and in-depth study of client’s history, documents and data. This effort in studying our clients allowed us to design or facilitate - on top of our delivery of training programs - the creation of systems, process flows, guidelines, scripts that solve our client’s issues. Leadership is leadership Regardless of where it is practiced. Corporate. Government. Church. NGO. School. Community. Family. Etc. Banking. BPO. IT. F&B. Retail. Healthcare. Hospitality. Supply Chain. Etc. The same universal principles apply: Service and NOT personal agenda Competence and NOT popularity Integrity and NOT hypocrisy Fairness and NOT favoritism Justice and NOT vengeance Leadership transcends titles and positions. It’s about doing what is right, regardless of the context.

We’ve all heard of “Jack of all trades, master of none.” But did you know the complete quote continues with: “…but oftentimes better than a master of one.” The first part makes it sound like we should focus on mastering just one field. The second part? It’s saying that having a broad range of skills can actually be more advantageous. Why can’t we have both? Instead of choosing between being a specialist or a generalist, why not aim for: Jack of many trades, Master of some. This is the V-Framework: 1 Be a master—operate at a “guru-level” in several areas. 2 But also diversify—keep on learning new skills. Mastery + Versatility = staying relevant and adding value. Competence is not enough. We must communicate well for others to recognize our expertise. Communication is not enough. We must convince and influence to drive action. Convincing others is not enough. We must create value— because persuasion without purpose can be misused. Let’s use our competence, our communication, and our convincing skills to create real impact.

  • Our story of resilience and reinvention during the 2020 pandemic starts with this photo - our team's last groufie before the lockdown.

Today is March 9—a day forever etched in my memory. 5 years ago, on March 9, 2020, we held an emergency town hall to address our team’s concerns about COVID-19—something we knew little about at the time. This was our last in-person groufie before the lockdown. Back then, LJMB had 20 employees. We had just moved into a bigger, modern office. 2 days prior, on March 7, 2020, the news broke: "Taguig-based firm says employee tests positive for coronavirus." That was one of Metro Manila’s first two cases. That same day, clients messaged: “Let’s postpone training next week.” Worry filled the air. By Monday, we gathered everyone, shared what we knew about COVID-19, provided alcohol supplies, and discussed contingency plans. Then, we had ice cream. The week was a whirlwind: March 11: A colleague got sick—we sent everyone home and disinfected the office. March 12: Manila’s lockdown was declared. March 13-14: Panic-buying, people rushing to provinces, yet two trainers still delivered a class. March 16: Day 1 of lockdown—our first Google Meet huddle. Since 2016, LJMB had daily training sessions—sometimes four at once. Weekends were fully booked. But on March 16, 2020, for the first time, we had zero training. Smiles hid the anxiety. Looking at this photo, memories flood back—resilience, transformation, innovation. Two weeks later, we launched our first webinar—one of the first Filipino outsourced training firms to do so. In the next two months, we ran 4-5 free webinars daily—to stay engaged and support struggling leaders. Revenue? Zero from March to May 2020. I had the option to close in May and protect my finances. But I chose to support my team until July/August—when we had to let go of some. By June, paid webinars trickled in. By August, as companies reinvested in employee development, we were ready. The last four months of 2020? Business boomed. Looking back, I’m grateful I supported my team. I’m grateful I didn’t shut down. I’m grateful I kept going—one day at a time. Now, our full story of resilience and reinvention needs to be told. Watch out for the book launch on April 1: "COVID ka lang, Team LJMB Kami!: From Resilience to Reinvention"

Earn your clients' trust (and sustain it)! "Sampalataya kami sa yo." (We have faith in you!) Of all the positive feedback I’ve received this year, this one—coming from a C-level client of an industry leader—stands out. Last week, during our final briefing just days before their big event, the meeting was quick. No back-and-forth, no lengthy discussions. It ended with: "Sampalataya kami sa yo." When clients trust you: 1. Meetings are shorter—no need to overexplain. 2. They share more information, allowing you to tailor-fit your solutions. 3. They become more cooperative, making collaboration easier. 4. Their trust boosts your confidence, especially in tough projects. 5. And of course, they give you more business! So, how do you build trust? Here are 4Cs: 1. Care Make them feel you care about their goals and problems 2. Competence Show them you have what it takes 3. Confidence Make them feel that assurance that you’ll get things done 4. Consistency Deliver results, time and again. Trust isn’t built overnight,  but when you earn it, it becomes your greatest asset.

  • Choose excellence!

The Usual Excuse for Lack of Excellence “Nakalimutan ko… busy e…” Result: Tasks don’t get done. Deadlines are missed. Commitments are dropped. Errors happen despite multiple reminders—leading to customer complaints, escalations, or unnecessary stress on the team. Understandable? Maybe. But excusable? Not always. Yes, we live in an era of information overload. Workloads are heavier, the pace of business is faster, and processes keep changing. On top of that, distractions are everywhere—social media, endless notifications, back-to-back meetings, and personal concerns that pull attention away from work. But "Nakalimutan ko… busy e…" feels like a dead-end response. It’s frustrating to hear, and it doesn’t solve anything. You’d almost want to reply with sarcasm, “So… anong gagawin natin?” Instead of using “I forgot” as a go-to excuse, take ownership of your work and do something about it. Here are five ways to stop forgetfulness from sabotaging your performance: 1 Record/ write it down. Now. Do not listen without taking note. You'll forget it after a few seconds. Don’t trust your memory. Use a notebook, a task manager, or even a sticky note—whatever works. The moment you get an assignment or give a commitment, record it immediately. 2 Set reminders that actually work. We do have the best tech tools today! Our phones are capable of helping us manage our priorities. Alarms, calendar alerts, or even a colleague’s nudge can help (if they see a visual tracker). But don’t just set and ignore them—respect them as non-negotiable triggers to take action. 3 Revisit your To Do List at the end of the day. When all the chaos of the day has ended, look at items you may have missed doing. Include them in your plan for the following day - write it down, calendar it, and set reminders. Your credibility is built on reliability. If you have a reputation for forgetting things, trust erodes. Deliver and see great things happen in your career.
