Rose and GJ provide a discussion on the basic tax concepts and practices which enhances the participants’ understanding of the essential business compliance principles. The event is aimed to expand business perspectives from a tax point-of-view and enhance the participants' comprehension in navigating basic taxation through interactive discussions and engaging Q&A sessions facilitated by the distinguished speakers. Also in the event are PICPA Sectoral Director for Public Practice and Assurance Partner, Margem Tagalog, CPA and Business Tax Services Partner, Atty. Anne Margaret E. HAPPENING NOW: SGV Tax Partner Hentje Leo Leaño is currently conducting an engaging face-to-face seminar on Tax Compliance Updates & Tax Assessment Backroom Support. This event is organized by SGV Davao’s Global Compliance and Reporting (GCR) team, spearheaded by Partner Saha A. Bulagsak and Senior Director Abegaile L. Lebiga-Gamale. The seminar aims to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of recent BIR issuances and tax compliance-related court decisions, as well as procedures to address common factual issues raised during tax audits. Frances Ciara N. Retes, serving as the master of ceremonies, is ensuring the smooth flow of the event. Meanwhile, Gabriela A. Aguilar is engaging the audience with interactive polling questions. With 83 participants in attendance, this seminar has set a record for the one of the highest numbers of attendees at a post-pandemic face-to-face seminar in the Davao office. The event highlights SGV Davao’s commitment to providing valuable insights and support to its clients.

The seminar, held at the Cebu Chamber Centre NRA, Cebu City, provides an in-depth discussion on Business Taxation, shining a light on the critical aspects of Value-Added Tax and Other Percentage Taxes. The event is designed to deepen participants' comprehension to navigate the complexities of business taxation through interactive discussions and engaging Q&A sessions facilitated by the distinguished speakers.

MG4 kicked off FY25 on 5 and 6 September with a mix of strategic planning sessions and cultural festivities. The first session was held at Sheraton Mactan Cebu, where MG4 Leader Veronica R. Pore (VRP) reviewed the market group’s past achievements and future targets, whereas Assurance Partner Jhoanna Feliza C. Go (JCG) and Tax Partner Josenilo G. Mendoza (JGM) addressed Assurance and GCR developments for FY24 and plans for FY25. SGV Chairman and Country Managing Partner Wilson P. Tan (WPT) was also in attendance. On the second day, held at the SGV Cebu office, VRP, JCG, and JGM shared MG4's accomplishments and plans with managers, which culminated with a townhall for more in-depth discussions. The evening featured a vibrant competition with regional festival presentations by six groups: 1. Maskara Festival - JCG, Genghis O. Grospe (GOG), JGM, and Dexter Allan Noel N. Madamba (DNM) clusters (Makati B) 2. Kadayawan Festival - SGV Davao Partner-in-Charge Jose Raoul J. Balisalisa (JJB) and Saha A. Bulagsak (SAB) clusters (Mindanao) 3. Dagitab Festival - New managers 4. Kabkaban Festival - Margem A. Tagalog (MAT) and SAB clusters (Visayas and CDO) 5. Panagbenga Festival - EAs/TC/RMA 6. Tuba Festival - Ma. Genalin Q. Arevalo (MQA), VRP, Leovina Mae P. Villa-Chu (LVC), and Mary Grace N. Cabalida (MCO) clusters (Makati A) The new managers triumphed with their Dagitab Festival performance, while the Partners showcased the Sinulog Festival. MG4 commemorated the experience with the hashtag #MG4LL-In:Re4dyResetGo.
