Job Description:

The General Manager -Sales and Business Development is a dynamic leadership role, the incumbent will be the driving force behind the company commercial efforts, developing a strong brand presence and leading business growth and profitability in the assigned country.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive business development strategy through market analysis, strategic entry planning and business model formulation.
  • Establish and enhance the company’s local footprint, including setting up an office, key staff hiring, and a high- performing local team formation.
  • Plan and organize resources , Implement action plans to drive volumes & profitability in line with the strategies.
  • Navigate legal and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with local laws, international standards and best practices
  • Build and maintain relationships with local government entities, business partners, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and meeting profitability objectives.
  • Act as the company’s primary representative in the country, serving as the key spokesperson and brand ambassador to elevate our corporate identity.
  • Foster a company culture that reflects our core values and motivates the team towards performance excellence.
  • Provide regular reports to the board of directors providing insights on operational progress, encountered challenges, and potential strategic initiatives for growth.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience from similar industry of 5 to 8 years with at least 3 years of leadership role in business development with a track record of successful market entry and capitalizing on business opportunities.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and profitability optimization.
  • Strong understanding of business functions such as Finance, Marketing, Operations and HR.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills to inspire and mobilize diverse teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment, willingness to travel and adapt to new environments.
  • Local and International business laws and compliance
  • Fluent in the English language - spoken and written
