CISS Report | "Exploring New Frontiers of International Security: Cyberspace, AI, and Autonomy" The weaponization of AI is no longer a theoretical concern—it’s a reality shaping modern warfare. The conflict in Gaza highlights AI’s dominant role and calls for urgent discourse on its implications. As new technologies redefine conflict and security through advancements in cyber, autonomy, and AI, critical security challenges arise, demanding proactive policies. The increasing use of land, sea, and aerial drones, swarm technologies, missile systems, and autonomous "killer robots" exemplifies this shift. Pakistan remains committed to transparent and defensive technological development. In response to these evolving challenges, establishing an Inter-Services Cyber Command under the Joint Services Headquarters is essential for safeguarding national security in this era of rapid tech advancement. ICYMI | For decades, Tehran has used groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah and others to counterbalance Israel’s military superiority. However, the recent assassinations by Israel have dealt a significant blow to the integrity of this alliance and signaled the limits of this strategy. As Iran considers its strategic options going forward, it may feel compelled to accelerate its program for nuclear enrichment, viewing nuclear capabilities as the ultimate and only truly reliable deterrent to future threats against itself and its strategic interests in the region. This situation increases the urgency of attempts to revive the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). ICYMI | The Russia-Ukraine conflict has again highlighted the importance of nuclear power plant security. Since the start of the war, the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant has been under threat and, recently, amid Ukraine’s incursions into Russia, attacks close to the Kursk nuclear power plant have also raised safety fears. These concerns highlight the vulnerability of nuclear installations to conventional attacks, especially in a broader conflict. In this context, the non-attack agreement between India and Pakistan – in which they pledged not to attack each other’s nuclear installations or facilities – can serve as a template of responsible behaviour. It could help reduce the chances of a nuclear accident during a conflict. Author: Abdul Moiz Khan Read More: https://lnkd.in/dneCMeMA
