This funding supports the co-founders, Omar Shah and Ali Shah, in expanding into Saudi Arabia and the broader #MENA region. We are thrilled to share that Qist Bazaar, Pakistan’s leading Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) #FinTech startup, raised US$3.2 million in its Series A round led by Indus Valley Capital, with participation from Gobi Partners. Bank Alfalah Limited, which led the seed round, marks the first equity partnership between an international #VC and a Pakistani commercial bank in the #BNPL sector. Since its founding, Qist Bazaar has provided over 55,000 loans - totalling US$12 million, to unbanked and underbanked segments. With this funding, the company plans to expand operations across Pakistan and introduce new product categories, including solar power generators for small households. Pakistan-based social e-commerce platform DealCart has raised US$3 million in a seed funding round led by Shorooq Partners and Sturgeon Capital, with participation from 500 Global, Evolution VC, Rayn Capital, and Khyber Venture Partners. This investment will help DealCart expand its reach and provide affordable essential goods to low- and middle-income consumers by sourcing products directly from manufacturers and collaborating with locally manufactured brands.
