The BMZ-funded project "Improved Access to Services through Analog & Digital Participation in Local Governance, Health, and Education," supported by GIZ and implemented by IMSciences-HRDC, is moving into its next phase of Village and Neighborhood Council (VC/NC) capacity building on local governance. As part of the capacity development, exposure visits have been organized for 45 VC/NCs. The exposure visits provide participants from VC Ayubabad, NC Dheri Khattak 1 and VC Pir Sabaq 1, Nowshera with insights into model VC Chamtalai & Mashkomai, Swat showcasing best practices in participatory planning and the inclusion of vulnerable groups. Model VC/NCs in Mansehra, Swat, and Mardan, were selected through consultation with the Directorate LG and Assistant Directors for the visits of 45 VC/NC members. These visits aim to familiarize participants and women activists with their role in promoting inclusive governance, while encouraging the exchange of experiences and ideas. Breaking barriers for the first time, these incredible women stepped out of their homes to participate in an exposure visit, marking a powerful shift in gender dynamics. This initiative offered them a unique space to interact, learn, and grow, paving the way for lasting empowerment and community transformation.
