Op reis. Naar Pakistan. Een land in ontwikkeling, maar ook met een grote IMF-schuld, waar het leger eigenlijk de touwtjes in handen heeft, waar langzamerhand vrouwen een steeds betere positie krijgen en waar circa 2/3 van de bevolking 25 jaar of jonger is. Waar Zeeman een deel van haar productie heeft ondergebracht, met name huishoudtextiel maar ook producten als spijkerbroeken, sweaters en t-shirts. We zijn er trots op om te kunnen aankondigen dat we per 1 november een nieuwe agent hebben aangesteld, Matrix Sourcing. Samen gaan we proberen om een bijdrage te leveren aan de ontwikkeling van het land en aan onze gezamenlijke business. Het was ook bijzonder om ons eigen ‘women empowerment project’ te bezoeken waar we samen met o.a. Schijvens een bijdrage aan leveren. Ons werk kent meerdere laagjes, werken aan de business en tegelijkertijd zorgdragen voor een verantwoorde keten, met oog voor mens, cultuur en ontwikkeling.
