In accordance with Pakistan's regulations, all cellular devices, including those intended for commercial use, sample units, or test trials, must have their IMEIs registered with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) prior to importation. Devices that do not comply with this requirement cannot be imported commercially, nor can they be submitted as samples for type approval. Exciting developments in Pakistan’s connectivity landscape! The PTA has officially launched the WLAN Framework 2024, reserving crucial unlicensed frequency bands, including 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and the newly available 6 GHz starting May 2024. This framework is designed to enhance wireless experiences by improving coverage and connectivity in homes, offices, and public spaces. By establishing clear technical requirements, the PTA aims to support both local manufacturers and importers of WLAN equipment, fostering innovation and accessibility. This initiative not only strengthens regulatory clarity but also encourages the adoption of modern technologies, paving the way for a more connected future. Looking forward to seeing the positive impact on digital access across the country! #PTA #TypeApproval #Typeapprovalprocess #Regulatorycompliance #Equipmentapproval #Approvalregulations #wirelessregulatorycompliance #Telecommunications #WLAN #Connectivity #DigitalPakistan #Innovation

Starting September 15, 2024, Jordan’s Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) will implement a new Type Approval Regulation for telecommunications devices. Key updates include: • Certificate Validity: Reduced from 3 years to 1 year. • Test Reports: Must come from ILAC-accredited labs. • Modification Applications: Changes to brand names, descriptions, or certificate holder details require modification applications without affecting certificate validity; changes to model numbers or specs require new applications. • Exempted Devices: Laptops, printers, GPS receivers, and desktop computers are exempt but can be approved voluntarily. • Labeling Requirements: Devices must display the Manufacturer Name, Brand, Model, and IMEI for cellular devices.
