World’s 2nd, Pakistan’s tallest man’ passes away BUREWALA: Zia Rasheed, Pakistan’s tallest man, who stood at over 8 feet tall, died aged 30 after years-long illness on Tuesday in his hometown Vehari. He was tallest man in Asian nation. In an interview in December 2018, Rasheed had said he was getting taekwondo training to ensure his body fitness and self defence. He had claimed that his height was eight feet and three inches and he was the second tallest man in the world. Famous political and social personalities of the region participated in his funeral prayer. Zia Rasheed, a resident of Garha Mor Chak No. 94 WB, opened his eyes 30 years ago at the house of late Dr. Abdul Rasheed Khalid. His other four brothers, Dr Majdar Rasheed, Dr. Saqib Rasheed, Aqib Rasheed, and Kashif Rasheed were of normal height, became the arm of Zia Rashid, due to his rapidly increasing height. His normal life began to be affected and he became the tallest person in Pakistan at the age of fifteen, but after the age of 20, he suffered from knee pain, due to lack of proper government patronage, he could not get proper treatment, and his illness worsened. Zia Rashid, due to illness, he did not get enough time, and last year, he fell down from the stairs while coming down from the roof. And since then he could not regain his normal health which added to his miseries. Zia Rashid spent the period of his life in a very beautiful way and was a very good-natured and simple-minded person.
