Aitchison College - Day III On Day III of the STEAM Teacher Training program, participants were encouraged to harness their ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills to tackle a hands-on challenge: designing a plant health monitor using Arduino, sensors, and various programming tools. The teachers worked collaboratively to conceptualize and assemble devices that could monitor soil moisture, light, and temperature to optimize plant growth. As they explored creative solutions, many linked these projects to real-world applications in agriculture and gardening. Participants even delved into entrepreneurial ideas, envisioning how such technologies could be turned into marketable products that support sustainable farming practices or smart home systems. The session wrapped up with a lively "Find Your Name Balloon" activity, where each teacher had to locate a balloon with their name on it, but the only way to succeed was by helping each other. This fun-filled exercise underscored the importance of teamwork and collaboration, key components of both STEAM education and entrepreneurship. Teachers walked away not only with practical knowledge but also a renewed understanding of how collective effort can lead to innovation and success.
