Pakistan’s IT industry is slowly catching up, rather in the past few years we have seen tremendous growth. The current state of Information Technology of the Country: 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐢𝐳𝐞: $3 Billion. 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐞: marking 24% year-over-year growth, with August 2024 alone bringing in $298 million. 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Estimated to reach $4 Billion by the end of FY25. GDP Contribution: Around 1%. 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭: Over 500,000 professionals work within the IT sector. 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Pakistan’s IT services maintain a high client satisfaction rate, exceeding 90%. Thanks to the hard-working individuals, teams, and companies who are making Pakistan proud by building a reputation in international markets for quality services and cost-effective solutions. The Govt need to capitalize and accelerate this growth through IT friendly Policies, Regulations, and Legislation's and Less / No Hindrance, Restrictions, and Blocking. If nothing can be done (on a lighter note): - Let (it) thrive organically. - Leave (it) alone 😊. If the Govt fails to nurture the IT sector and neglect the demands and needs of the local IT industry and international expectations. We risk pushing potential and innovation elsewhere—or worse, into areas like the scam industry. e.g: India’s scam industry is bigger than Pakistan’s legitimate IT Business run though it’s fraudulent call center operations, fake tech support, phishing schemes, and investment fraud etc etc. When we see the rise of "scam industries" in other regions, it’s a reminder of what happens when talent and opportunities aren’t channeled productively. Those parallel “Scam IT economy” requires: - No regulations. - Less technical skills. - Lower costs. - Quick returns, and profits. Can be easily be replicated, However: - Difficult to control. - Negatively impact a country’s global reputation. India and other Countries will get away with these fraudulent practices. However, Pakistan won’t be able to remove this stigma. Pakistan’s IT sector has the opportunity to avoid these pitfalls by staying focused on growth, quality, and innovation. With the right government policies in place, Pakistan could strengthen its IT ecosystem and attract global clients, making it a competitive leader in the tech world. Investing in a robust, ethical IT framework not only creates jobs but also secures Pakistan’s position as a responsible, prosperous tech nation. I wish, pray, and hope that Pakistan’s IT potential is fully realized, channeling talent into innovation rather than alternatives that could harm the sector’s reputation. #pakistan #IT

Aljazeera interviewed me on the recent Internet disruption. If the Prime Minister of Pakistan and stakeholders' vision of reaching a $25 billion benchmark for the IT industry is to become a reality, the internet disruptions must stop. I believe, Three things are important to succeed over the internet. - Electricity - A Machine - The Internet In today's world, staying connected is not just a luxury — It's a necessity. #Amir #sectionsoft #aljazeera #internet #firewall #connectivity
