I’ve just returned from the 2024 The Forum of Young Global Leaders Conference hosted by the World Economic Forum in Singapore. This year’s summit marked the 20th anniversary of the YGL Forum, with a strong focus on Leadership for Technological and Innovative Stewardship, Equity, Inclusion, and Unity, Nature and Health, and Well-being and Resilience. The conference began with an inspiring session addressed by the Honourable Prime Minister of Singapore,Mr. Lawrence Wong-hosted by Olivier Schwab, Managing Director,WEF.His insights on the critical role of preventative healthcare in addressing chronic and long-term conditions truly resonated with me. I was honoured to share Sehat Kahani’s work with him, which aligns closely with his vision of improving quality of life through early and accessible health interventions. Each year as a YGL, I leave the summit with a renewed sense of purpose. This year, as I graduate and transition into the global network of YGLs, I’m more inspired than ever by the remarkable stories of resilience and shared commitment I witnessed. In a world that is often divided by conflict, the voices at the summit were united in their determination to safeguard our planet for future generations. Whether discussing climate action, health innovation, technological advancements, gender equity or peace building, every conversation was anchored in the vision of a better, more sustainable future. I leave this summit feeling connected, empowered, and motivated to contribute to this global mission. Being part of such a special community of change makers is a profound honour, and I am grateful to share this space with extraordinary leaders from around the world. Listening this year specially to Barrister Maleeka Bokhari sharing her journey marked with such resilience and impact in the closing plenary brought many tears and goose bumps!
