On October 8th and 9th, the fifth edition of the International Conference "Financial Support for Small and Medium Enterprises" Sofia International Money Expo SIMExpo2024 took place. This year, the traditional organizers of the event were again the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Agency (BSMEPA), the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Investment Council of the Chamber, in partnership with Sofia Municipality. The motto of the conference was "Sofia - Regional Financial Hub." The Bulgarian division of Tradewind participated in the two-day conference as a member of the Investment Council to the BCCI. The event’s program and networking forum provided a platform for dialogue between businesses and financial institutions. Business representatives received valuable information about development opportunities through various financial and investment tools. The Tradewind Bulgaria Sales Team, Desislava Yordanova and Pravdomir Hristov, actively engaged with companies on-site to present export factoring as a strategic solution for business growth. Desislava also highlighted this solution during the final time slot dedicated to the members of the Investment Council at the conference. Rafi Shirinyan participated in the panel discussion Challenges for SME Development and Support for Export – financial, insurance, and guarantee Instruments. Export factoring is a financial service that provides companies with immediate liquidity by converting their international receivables into cash. This allows businesses to maintain a steady cash flow, especially when dealing with longer payment terms from foreign buyers. For SMEs, this is particularly beneficial, as it mitigates risks, enabling companies to focus on expanding their global presence without cash flow constraints. We are pleased to be part of the Investment Council to the BCCI, whose work has always focused on promoting, supporting, and developing businesses, with special emphasis on SMEs. This conference provided participants with the opportunity to learn about the possibilities for receiving financial support to enhance their future development and improve business processes. By offering export factoring, Tradewind empowers businesses to manage their working capital more efficiently, paving the way for sustainable growth. This tool is particularly useful for SMEs looking to expand their operations internationally, as it provides the financial flexibility needed to succeed in competitive global markets. The conference provided an ideal setting for Tradewind Bulgaria to demonstrate how export factoring can be a game-changer for businesses aiming to streamline operations, manage risks, and drive international expansion.

We were excited to welcome Florian Filippo Walther, Country Representative Pakistan from the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK), to our Karachi office, where he met with Tradewind’s Regional CEO, Middle East and South Asia Soheil Zali and Commercial Head Pakistan Rana Waqas to discuss Tradewind’s factoring solutions, which are offered globally and in Pakistan. In a presentation, Mr. Zali talked about the features of our factoring services, which enable businesses that trade internationally to execute better working capital management and pursue more growth opportunities. One point of discussion detailed how Tradewind’s solutions have supported Pakistani exporters by mitigating the risks of exporting on credit with extended payment terms. We very much thank Mr. Walther for his visit and look forward to the prospect of working together with AHK in the future, especially to spread awareness about factoring across Pakistan, including in Sialkot, a hub of sports apparel and goods.

Tradewind was a proud sponsor and participant of the Indian Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container Association’s Annual General Meeting on September 27. There, we highlighted the benefits of factoring for packaging companies in the FIBC, or Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container, space. Tradewind’s Shruti Mahajan Singh, Shreejita Sheth, and Abdul Wakil met with IFIBCA members to speak about these advantages, and some who are already partnered with Tradewind shared testimonials on how our factoring services have helped them. According to their testimonials, our clients in the FIBC space have experienced first-hand the ability of factoring to replenish liquidity and unlock growth for their business. These clients were able to take on larger orders with existing buyers, optimize their working capital cycles, and ensure vendors are paid on time with Tradewind’s receivables-based financing in place. In addition, we were glad to present at the event, highlighting our history of providing funding for the FIBC industry since around 2016, and how we’ve worked with a number of buyers across the US, Europe, and the Middle East during this time. Thank you to the IFIBCA.India for putting together a successful event. We look forward to helping SMEs in this space increase cash flow and achieve international growth through our export factoring solutions.
