About Pakistan Climate Smart Agriculture: The recently awarded five-year USAID/Pakistan Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) activity is part of the U.S.-Pakistan "Green Alliance" framework, aimed at fostering bilateral cooperation to address climate, environmental, and economic challenges. This initiative focuses on building resilience within farming communities by promoting the adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices and technologies. By increasing agricultural productivity and incomes sustainably, the CSA activity aligns with USAID’s goals of inclusive economic growth, gender equity, and environmental stewardship. Activities will be implemented in a context-sensitive manner to promote increased agricultural productivity; higher resilience to climate change; and economic participation and greater incomes of socially marginalized groups, women, and girls at different stages of agricultural production and processing. In partnering with the private sector, civil society, and government stakeholders, Pakistan CSA aims to maximize the effectiveness and impact of investments. Targeted project interventions will be conducted in Punjab, Sindh, KP, and Balochistan provinces. This project is implemented by The Kaizen Company on behalf of Tetra Tech.
About the Role
Implement the USAID Pakistan Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) Activity's efforts to develop a digital ecosystem in the country's agriculture sector contributing to reducing the digital gap, promoting the adoption of climate-smart practices, leveraging climate information, and implementing risk-reduction actions to enhance sustainability and resilience to climate change.
Key Responsibilities
Develop digital products that can interplay a role in awareness raising and use of new technologies and best management practices for climate smart agriculture.
Work with technology firms in development/extension of digital platforms/ products and onboard public sector organizations, farmers, financial institutions, input suppliers, producers, processors, academia, MSMEs and other relevant stakeholders to connect digitally.
Work with public/private sector extensions service providers to disseminate agriculture related information and services for agriculture sector digitally.
Access, develop and disseminate best practice guides on climate-smart agriculture, helping farmers learn about and implement sustainable techniques.
Minimum Qualification
Master’s degree in IT/ computer sciences or relevant field
At least 7 years’ experience related to use of IT for agricultural extension, digital platforms for information and advice for agriculture, or similar experience.
Salary
The annual salary will be determined in line with background and experience, per the local compensation plan. A standard benefits package will be offered.
