My key takeaways: 📈 Poland remains Lithuania’s #1 trade and economic partner, with exports growing by 50% in the last five years. Our countries are not only close allies in defense but also share a strong commitment to advancing innovation and technology. The world is going through a big transformation – 2,000 investors from around the globe gathered at PRI in Person in Toronto to discuss how to support this transformation through investments and how to navigate it. Whether intentionally or not, the organizers framed the conference with an ethical theme: opening with the topic of JUST TRANSITION and closing with RESPONSIBLE investing and the use of artificial intelligence. It’s worth noting that, for the first time, many discussions focused on human rights and social issues in the context of combating climate change. This is an important takeaway for Poland, which faces a massive scale of transformative investments that cannot be carried out without considering the social dimension. It’s worth asking if we truly understand what it means to conduct a transition in a just way. It’s simple – the transformation will either be just and inclusive, or it won’t happen at all.

W publikacji piszę między innymi o tym, że nawet jeśli podejmujemy zagadnienie zmian klimatu, to często w kontekście ich wpływu na człowieka. W centrum tej dyskusji jest element humanistyczny i społeczny. Warto też pamiętać, że wiele inwestycji w zakresie reagowania na zmiany klimatu nie zostało zrealizowanych przez opór społeczny.
