📑 Port Monitor Report Polish seaports in the first half 2024 The total turnover in Polish ports in the first half of 2024 amounted to 67.75 million tonnes of cargo, 8.65% less than in the corresponding period of 2023. A decrease in cargo handling was observed in all ports analysed. The largest decrease was in the Port of Szczecin-Świnoujście, which recorded 2.17 million tonnes less than in the corresponding period of 2023, of which 1.23 million tonnes was attributable to a decrease in one cargo group - coal and coke. This cargo category also affected the performance of other ports. In the Port of Gdansk, drop in total cargo handling reached 7.68% and in the Port of Gdynia 7.24%. In Polish seaports, increases in cargo throughput took place in the following cargo groups: grain (+2.53%), general cargo (+2.96%) and liquid fuels (+4.99%). Drops occurred in all other categories: coal (-63.46%), ores (-50.62%), other bulk (-8.03%) and timber (-19.57%). 🚢 Nowe suwnice STS dotarły na nabrzeże T3 do Baltic Hub Cztery najnowocześniejsze suwnice nabrzeżowe STS (ship-to-shore), jedne z największych w Europie, przybyły do Baltic Hub w Gdańsku po prawie dwóch miesiącach podróży z Chin. Każda z suwnic waży prawie 2 000 ton, ma ponad 96 metrów wysokości (140 m z podniesionym wysięgnikiem), i jest w stanie podnieść kontener na wysokość 55 metrów i wynieść go nad pokład statku na długość 74 metrów, z udźwigiem do 65 ton. *** 🚢 New STS cranes have arrived at the T3 quay at Baltic Hub Four state-of-the-art ship-to-shore (STS) cranes, among the largest in Europe, have reached Baltic Hub in Gdańsk after almost two months at sea from China. Each crane, stands over 96 meters tall (140 meters with the boom raised), weighs nearly 2,000 tons and can lift containers up to a height of 55 meters, and extend across vessels to a length of 74 meters, with a lifting capacity up to 65 tons. #STScranes #BalticHub #T3 #investments #containerhub

🚢 Sezon turystyczny w Porcie Gdynia kończy wizyta statku AIDAMar. Wybudowano go w 2012 r. jako szósty z serii dla armatora Aida Cruises. Jednostka ma 12 pokładów i może pomieścić 2050 pasażerów oraz 588 członków załogi. Armator postanowił inaczej zagospodarować wnętrze statku, tworząc m.in. więcej pomieszczeń typowo sportowo-rekreacyjnych. Zamiast klasycznego teatru znajduje się mniejsze theatrium. Ma ponad 253 m długości, na burcie duże czerwone "usta" i "zalotne spojrzenie". *** The tourist season in the Port of Gdynia ends with the visit of the AIDAMar ship. She was built in 2012 as the sixth in the series for the shipowner Aida Cruises. The unit has 12 decks and can accommodate 2,050 passengers and 588 crew members. The shipowner decided to arrange the interior of the ship differently, creating, among other things, more typical sports and recreational rooms. Instead of a classic theater, there is a smaller theatrium. She is over 253 m long, with large red "lips" and a "coquettish look" on the side. #portgdynia #portofgdynia

📑 Port Monitor Report Results of the Top 10 Baltic Ports in the first half of 2024 Total turnover in the Top 10 Baltic Ports In the first half of 2024, the majority of the biggest Baltic ports experienced a decrease in the total turnover comparing to the corresponding period of 2023. The ports, which experienced an increase are: two Russian ports (Ust Luga and St. Petersburg), and the Port of Klaipeda.
