Microsoft recently released long-awaited functionality – #D365 POS self checkout. It allows customers to process transactions on the till by themselves. It was something that our client wanted to have, but after testing, there were still gaps identified. Some of them are on Microsoft roadmap, but the delivery date is not yet known. Fortunately, we have highly experienced POS Developers who managed to deliver the required changes: - Notifications on other POS about status of cart on SCO POS - Showing advertisements in SCO mode when no items are in cart - Possibility to work on one register in SCO and regular mode - Possibility to confirm self checkout cart remotely for restricted products - Record on retail transactions if it was made in SCO or regular mode - Auto full screen mode - Shut down button After those improvements customer was able to go live in pilot store successfully. Next extensions are planned after MVP. As Microsoft partner we did multiple D365 Commerce projects in more than 40 countries, across the whole globe. We supported customers from different industries: fashion, grocery, electronic, DIY.

We wrapped up Black Friday with our customers running #D365 for Finance and Operations. Here’s a couple takeaways and the approach that our team has taken to go through the high sales period as smoothly as possible. 1)       Integrations – we designed integrations with high volume and scaling up in mind. In some cases we simply updated the setup to accommodate for higher traffic and faster data processing. 2)       Stress testing – last thing you want to see is your ERP not keeping up with the high volume of orders coming in. In the end your orders won’t be created on time, stock will get out of sync, etc.. Domino effect in real life. We emphasized stress testing as a precaution and to be able to see where do we have to improve to be ready for BF. 3)       Monitoring – seeing what’s happening in the system in real time is crucial. Thanks to the way we build solutions we had a good overview of what’s happening in the system and integrations. And that allowed us to be very proactive about everything that was heading our way. Waiting for phone calls and tickets from customers about things that are not working is simply not good enough. We were a step ahead of that. 4)       Last but not least. All of the above was possible thanks to the amazing team that we work with. If you’re running commerce business you have to have a group of specialists that actually know what they’re doing. And we have one of the best ones in DeliveredSoft. We make commerce projects work for more than 10 years now. We have experience both on the partner and end-user side, so we know how to be in customer’s and partner’s shoes.
