Hungarian doctors are now using a smart #AI model that can detect breast cancer up to four years before it fully develops. This cool technology, called computer-assisted detection, helps doctors by pointing out areas on mammograms that need a closer look. Research from #MIT has shown that this AI can spot changes between mammograms and highlight areas that might turn into cancer. These areas often develop into breast cancer over time. MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) built this deep-learning model using data from over 90,000 mammograms at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). The model picks up on tiny patterns in breast tissue that are hard for the human eye to catch. By looking at mammograms and outcomes from more than 60,000 patients, this AI model can find early signs of cancer and predict if a patient might develop breast cancer in the future. This AI technology is a game-changer for early breast cancer detection. By spotting potential cancer years in advance, Hungarian doctors can step in earlier, potentially saving many lives through early treatment and monitoring. Using AI for breast cancer detection is a big step forward in medical tech. As more research and use continue, this AI model could change how we diagnose and treat cancer worldwide. #breastcancer
