People Can Fly is a global video game development company operating in Poland, the UK and North America. We are one of the leading Unreal Engine studios in the industry. Established in 2002, PCF made its mark on the shooter genre. The studio is known for titles such as Bulletstorm: Full Clip (launched on April 7, 2017), Gears of War: Judgment (published in 2013) and Bulletstorm (an original, Unreal Engine 3-powered onslaught of ‘kill with skill’ gameplay and blockbuster moments published in 2011) and award-winning Painkiller (launched in 2004). People Can Fly's new RPG shooter Outriders is available now on PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Google Stadia and Nvidia GeForce Now. People Can Fly studio is currently working on several exciting titles: Gemini is our new project being developed with Square Enix; Bifrost, Victoria and Dagger are projects we're growing in the self-publishing model. We also have one project in the concept phase – Red; as well as two projects in VR technology – Green Hell VR and Thunder - a new project based on one of the IPs from the Group’s portfolio. Up next in Aviator Insights - Alexander Stokes our QA Director answers a couple of questions! 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀? As the Global QA Director at PCF, I'm responsible for all branches of QA across all of our teams and projects. My job is to ensure we're planning adequately for the future and growth of our projects, as well as setting the standards of quality we should aim for within our teams. Largely, I do this by setting goals and objectives for our department to push towards on each of our projects and try to resolve problems or blockers that my excellent QA Leadership team escalates to me. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘃? I got started in Gamedev as a contractor via Keywords Studios (formerly Babel) in Montreal. I actually got into Gamedev through a friend who I was playing D&D with originally, I had never considered it a career before he suggested it. However, as I had been a gamer my whole life and having just got out of University I took to it right away. It was the first time I had ever been excited about my job, and I decided that was priceless. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝘆? That's a tough one! I think as far as design and atmosphere goes, Bloodborne has to be head and shoulders above the rest for me with the way it invokes emotions in its players. I can't help but give a shoutout to Hunt: Showdown, however, which I put over 1000 hours into during the Pandemic. It also has an amazing atmosphere and introduced a phenomenal combat loop with low rate of fire weapons that hasn't been matched yet.
