At AROBS Polska we deliver electronics and software for space sector needs. Our team focuses on the development of products and technologies for quantum and optical communication, on-board data storage and processing, as well as for control of satellite mechanisms and instruments. Together with our partners, we create solutions that are the future of space. AROBS Polska Sp. z o. o. specialises in providing highly reliable electronics and software solutions for space missions. We implement projects commissioned by ESA (European Space Agency), simultaneously conducting R&D projects funded by the National Center for Research and Development (NCBiR). Over the years we have undertaken numerous cooperations with partners from the European space sector, including representatives of the New Space market. AROBS Polska is also the first Polish company to cooperate with scientific partners on the development of satellite quantum key distribution. We actively participate in initiatives related to the creation of the European Quantum Communication Infrastructure. We are also highly active in the field of satellite optical communication. Since 2019 AROBS Polska has been developing state-of-the-art satellite non-volatile mass memory modules, complying with the requirements of future ESA Earth Observation missions. One of the most mature areas of AROBS Polska competencies is the development of instrument and mechanism controllers. We participated in the design and production of custom on-board electronic equipment for space applications, such as the FLORIS Instrument Control Unit and Euclid ADPME. Another technology area mastered by AROBS Polska is the payload computer, including efficient data processing functions. A highlight from the company’s portfolio is the Rendez-Vous Sensor Processing Unit (RVSPU) processing signals from multiple cameras and lidar sensors within the ClearSpace-1 mission, which aims at the removal of space debris.

    One of our R&D projects, funded by the National Center for Research and Development, is the Self-calibrating Electronic Controller for Satellite Quantum Entanglement Source. At the heart of this innovative controller lies a Time-to-Digital Converter (TDC) IP core, which is crucial for enabling high-precision timing measurements. While our project focuses on quantum entanglement, the potential applications of TDC technology extend far beyond that. TDCs can be leveraged in various fields, including: 💡 Radar and sonar systems: measuring time-of-flight for object detection and ranging. 💡 Telecommunications: synchronizing data streams and recovering clock signals. 💡 High-speed data acquisition: capturing transient signals with high precision. 💡 Particle physics: measuring time differences between particle detections. 💡 Medical imaging: TDCs enable time-of-flight measurements in PET and SPECT scanners, improving image quality and reducing patients' radiation exposure.
