Last week in Bilbao at the UNIVERSIDAD DE LA IGLESIA DE DEUSTO the first meeting of the consortium partners of our new project PRECIOUS HORIZON took place. PRECIOUS HORIZON project aims to induce a fundamental change in attitudes and behaviours towards food consumption and disposal through collaborative efforts and innovative methods, fostering a more just and sustainable EU food system. UNLOCK Networking event in Warsaw   The UNLOCK project networking event was held in Warsaw, Poland on 15th October 2024 within the Mazovia Development Forum (Forum Rozwoju Mazowsza) and 20th anniversary of Poland in the European Union.   The main objective of the event led by UNIMOS Alliance was to showcase the UNLOCK project innovative solutions, cross-fertilize with projects and initiatives related to circularity, sustainable innovations and bioeconomy developments. The networking event – embedded within Forum´s featured debates, presentations, meetings with experts and partners zones´ open to visitors – intended to gather better understanding of the specific target customer segments, identify early adopters, benchmark on alternative solutions and gather first-hand insights on UNLOCK developments.   UNIMOS Alliance organized a collaborative zone for quadruple helix stakeholders from agrifood and connected sectors, where UNLOCK innovations, such as: - nonwoven geotextiles, - mulch films, - seed trays and - hydroponic foams were presented to attendees from public (regional and national policymakers), private (SMEs, startups and entrepreneurs), academia (technology centers, R&D and scientific parks) and networks (clusters, DIH, technological platforms), among others educational and knowledge organizations.   The networking event was also an opportunity to identify funding opportunities and to connect with relevant projects and initiatives related to circularity, such as SCALE-UP project, SUAVE | Urban Agriculture and Project BIO-Boost, as well as identify others that can support UNLOCK project implementation. #CircularEconomy #Agriculture #Sustainability #Innovation #Networking #Bioplastics #UNIMOS #UnimosAlliance

🌱 On October 18, 2024, in Radom, we held a workshop in collaboration with the Agriculture Professionals Formation Institute (Zespół Szkół Kształcenia Rolniczego) focused on integrating the UNLOCK project's developments into sustainable and circular agriculture practices. 🤝 With an interdisciplinary approach, we connected veterinary science, renewable energy, agrotronics, and agricultural mechanisation—all vital for the future of farming! 🚜🌿 It was great to see enthusiastic students from rural areas participating and sharing ideas. 🌿As part of the SCALE-UP project, the UNIMOS team had the pleasure of visiting one of our innovators, Monika Bankiewicz, at her social innovation-based apple farm. 🍏 During our visit, we toured the beautiful orchard, explored the premises, and carried out important work to further develop the innovative solutions Monika is championing. Her farm is a model of sustainable agricultural practices and a hub for community engagement and social innovation. 🌱 It was a fantastic experience to see firsthand the progress being made and collaborate on new ideas to drive bio-based innovation in rural areas.
