The official Google Photos app is made for the way you take photos today and includes essential features like shared albums, automatic creations and an advanced editing suite. Additionally every Google Account comes with 15 GB of storage and you can choose to automatically back up all your photos and videos in High quality or Original quality. You can then access them from any connected device and on photos.google.com.
With the official app, you get:

The back-up function is always stuck on getting ready regardless of how much one storage space I have and very frustrating to use for constantly clearing cache, reinstalling the app and trying all everything to get the app to back-up. Once all backed up, then the app is great for organizing and sharing photos, but the first step of getting the photos into the app is such a burdensome obstacle when it was intended to be automated and seamless. Please fix the back-up issue asap, thank you.

This app was working fine until recently. I can no longer upload photos to my Dropbox app or attach them to an email. When I try to add them to Dropbox I receive the message: Storage full or not available. I have plenty of space in my Dropbox account. When I try to attach to an email, I get a message: Couldn't attach file. Did the recent upgrade affect this capability? I am able to attach photos to texts.

The app constantly throws a pop-up with a button to turn on backup right across the navigation buttons. This has resulted in me accidentally turning on backup many times when all I want is to quickly access a photo. This in turn forces me to go on my pc and remove the backed up photos manually because you can't do that from the app itself. I don't know who thought putting pop-ups in a photo app was a good idea but they need to go back to UX class. Uninstall Google photos and find a better app.
