The Bible (Ыйык Китеп) in the Kyrgyz language includes Toorat (Torah), Zabur (Psalms) and Injil (Gospel), the writings of prophets and some other books. Scripture has been written and compiled over 1500 years by more than 40 people, led by God's Holy Spirit. The Bible Society of Kyrgyzstan, together with the Lingvoservice Center and the United Bible Societies, are currently translating the first part of the Bible, the Old Testament, in order to bring it to the Kyrgyz people in their native language, while retaining the original meaning. This is the uniqueness of this translation. Therefore, translators work with the original text in Hebrew. We believe that through the translation of the Bible into the Kyrgyz language, even more Kyrgyz will learn about Jesus Christ.
