    Judge Aileen Cannon Refuses to Step Off Trump-Related Case of Ryan Routh

    Judge Aileen Cannon's favoritism and bias in favor of Donald Trump is well-established. And the law provides that even the appearance of bias and favoritism (no actual bias/favoritism is necessary) warrants the removal of a judge from presiding over a case. The defendant charged with plotting a Trump assassination, Ryan Routh, filed a motion to have Cannon recuse herself from his case given that Trump is the victim. In a typically unpersuasive ruling, Cannon refused to leave the case, making it clear that Cannon just can't quit Trump or Trump-related cases.     Mike Johnson Confirms He & Trump Have a "Secret" Plan to Help Trump Take Power

    House Speaker Mike Johnson has confirmed to The New York Times that he and Donald Trump have a "little secret" designed to help Trump take power regardless of the election's results. Recall - Trump had not just one but FIVE little secret plans to steal the 2020 election: 1. A little secret plan to have his dirty lawyers file more than 60 fraudulent lawsuits to try to steal the election 2. A secret pressure campaign of state election officials ('just find me 11,780 votes") to try to steal the election 3. The fake elector secret scheme to try to steal the election 4. The secret pressure campaign on Mike Pence trying to convince him to violate the law by refusing to certify Joe Biden's election win to try to steal the election 5. The secret scheme to incite the mob at the January 6th, pre-insurrection pep rally to attack the US Capitol and stop the certification to try to steal the election All five of Trump's secret schemes failed and he's now indicted for that very conduct. Yet, Trump is undeterred, announcing that he and Johnson have a "little secret" to try again. Hey, DOJ . . . you up? You need not sit back and wait for Trump to deploy his 6th secret scheme to steal an election. How about some pro-active law enforcement this time?     Trump Says He & Mike Johnson Have An Election "Secret"

    Donald Trump held a hate rally at Madison Square Garden Sunday night. The reviews are in: NPR - "Off-color jokes, vitriol take over Trump Madison Square rally"; The New York Times - "Trump at the Garden: A Closing Carnival of Grievances, Misogyny and Racism"; and The New York Daily News - " RACIST RALLY". But one of the most troubling things revealed at the rally was Trump telling the crowd that he and House Speaker Mike Johnson have a "little secret" evidently designed to retain power after Trump loses the election. The good news is, unlike 2020 when Trump tried to unlawfully retain power, he is not president this time around - Joe Biden is. Glenn discusses how President Biden needs to exercise his core constitutional powers to stop Trump and Johnson from moving forward with their scheme to again try to defraud the American voters.     Judge Smacks Down DeSantis For Violating Pro-Choice Free Speech

    After Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his Republican legislators banned abortion in Florida after 6 weeks (at which point most women may not even know they're pregnant), 900,000 Floridians signed a petition to get abortion rights on the ballot as a constitutional amendment, designated as Amendment 4. A pro-choice group called Floridians Protecting Freedom created a TV ad supporting Amendment 4. The commercial plainly and inarguably constituted political speech protected by the First Amendment. Nevertheless, DeSantis and his henchmen issued cease and desist letters to 50 TV stations, threatening them with prosecution if they aired the pro-Amendment 4 commercial. Floridians Protecting Freedom filed suit in federal court seeking a restraining order prohibiting the state of Florida from violating their free speech rights. A federal judge granted the request for a restraining order, pointedly informing DeSantis of the following in his written ruling - " Too keep it simple for the State of Florida: it's the First Amendment, stupid." Glenn discusses the numerous legal developments at play in DeSantis's unconstitutional attempt to violate the free speech rights of the people of Florida.     Trump Says He'll Fire Special Counsel Jack Smith In "2 Seconds": Puts Aileen Cannon on AG Short List

    Recent reporting makes clear that Donald Trump is proudly and enthusiastically lawless. First, he announced that if elected he will fire Special Counsel Jack Smith - the very prosecutor who is pursuing Trump in two federal criminal cases - adding that he will fire him "within two seconds" of taking office. Of course, a president can't fire a special counsel, only an Attorney General can. Trump's lawlessness is reminiscent of Richard Nixon's "Saturday Night Massacre," when he ordered several DOJ officials to fire Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox who had subpoenaed Nixon's tapes. Neither Attorney General Elliot Richardson nor Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus would follow Nixon's corrupt order. By putting Judge Aileen Cannon on the short list to be his Attorney General, it feels like Trump may believe he has someone who would do his corrupt bidding and put a stop to his federal prosecutions by hook or by crook.
