Ciencia Puerto Rico

Ciencia Puerto Rico (CienciaPR, www.cienciapr.org) is a non-profit organization that brings together the largest collective of people interested in science and Puerto Rico in the world. CienciaPR harnesses the knowledge, commitment, and voices of its global community of over 13,000 scientists, students, educators, and allies to democratize science, transform science education in Puerto Rico, and foster the leadership of scientists. Since 2006, CienciaPR has successfully engaged and trained thousands of scientists, students, and educators, and created culturally relevant educational resources and experiences that enhance students' attitudes and interests in science. CienciaPR's efforts over the last decade have garnered multiple awards, including being named a “Bright Spot of STEM Education for Hispanics” by the White House in 2015 and “Science Defenders” by the Union of Concerned Scientists in 2018.
