In September, we were honoured to host Spanish media partners—including Agencia EFE, ForbesWomen_Es, and Revista Viajar—on a press trip to explore the treasures of Cairo and Alexandria. Paka Díaz, Juanjo Herranz Álvarez and Rosa Diaz accompanied us on this trip which showcased Egypt's unique mix of ancient history and contemporary culture, from the Great Pyramids to Alexandria's Mediterranean views. We’re grateful to our media partners for bringing Egypt's rich story to their audiences and look forward to more collaborations. #EgyptTourism #MediaRelations #CulturalTourism #Cairo #Alexandria #ExperienceEgypt

At last week’s Antalya Tourism Fair, the Egyptian Tourism Authority presented a compelling vision for the future of its tourism industry, reflecting a harmonious blend of cultural heritage and sustainable development. Through its impressive presence, Egypt highlighted Cairo as a thriving destination now more accessible than ever, thanks to direct flights from Istanbul. The Grand Egyptian Museum, which recently opened its doors for limited trial viewings, is set to become a landmark of cultural preservation, marking a significant milestone as the world’s largest museum dedicated to a single civilization. Mohamed Atta Elsherbeiny, Egypt’s General Manager for International Tourism, reinforced the country’s commitment to developing eco-friendly tourism. New green initiatives, including energy-efficient infrastructure, sustainable transport, and conservation programs, are part of Egypt’s plan to ensure that its growing tourism sector contributes positively to both the environment and local communities. As Egypt diversifies its offerings, destinations like the Siwa Oasis—an emerging hub for wellness tourism—and El Alamein, a modern Mediterranean retreat infused with historical significance, offer unique experiences for international travellers. With €4.464 billion allocated to enhancing El Alamein’s infrastructure and luxury tourism appeal, Egypt continues to redefine itself as a diverse, sustainable, and accessible destination. The Antalya Tourism Fair provided the perfect platform to showcase these advancements, strengthening Egypt’s relationships within the international tourism community and setting the stage for continued growth in 2024 and beyond. #mcGroup #AntalyaTourismFair #EgyptTourism #SustainableDevelopment #EcoFriendlyTourism #CulturalHeritage #VisitEgypt #ExperienceEgypt

mc Group was honored to support Egypt’s successful participation at the China Outbound Travel & Tourism Market (COTTM) held on October 16 in Beijing. This event marks a significant chapter in Egypt’s tourism strategy, with focused efforts on enhancing Sino-Egyptian tourism relations and positioning Egypt as a top destination for Chinese travelers. Led by the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, H.E. Sherif Fathy, the Egyptian delegation emphasized the potential for cultural exchange and economic growth through strengthened tourism ties with China. Egypt’s recent tourism surge, driven in part by tripled flights from key Chinese cities, reflects the nation’s commitment to accessibility and service. Mr. Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA), shared that China remains a priority market for Egypt’s tourism sector. With an ambitious goal of welcoming 300,000 Chinese visitors by year-end, ETA is actively expanding its support and services for Chinese tourists. Enhanced infrastructure, including dedicated Chinese-speaking tour guides, specialized dining options, and Chinese-language informational resources, all underscore Egypt's efforts to create a welcoming environment that aligns with travelers' expectations. In alignment with the Belt and Road Initiative, Egypt also aims to build deeper connections with Chinese tourism operators, establishing long-term partnerships and hosting promotional activities, including FAM trips and experiential campaigns for Chinese travel agencies and influencers. Beyond Cairo’s historic sites and Red Sea resorts, Egypt’s tourism sector is expanding to include new luxury experiences and sustainable tourism initiatives in destinations like Luxor and the Mediterranean coastline, ensuring a diverse array of experiences for visitors. The upcoming full opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) was also a focal point, as this landmark destination will provide visitors with a world-class exploration of ancient Egyptian civilization through an unmatched collection of artifacts. As we reflect on Egypt’s impressive achievements and initiatives at COTTM, we are excited for the future of Sino-Egyptian tourism cooperation. Together with the Egyptian Tourism Authority, mc Group remains committed to supporting Egypt’s dynamic growth and strengthening its global tourism footprint. #COTTM2024 #mcGroup #EgyptTourism #ChinaOutbound #GlobalTourism #SinoEgyptianRelations #CulturalExchange #TourismInnovation #EgyptianHeritage
