Being visible to your clients can remind them of issues they face or questions they have. This minimises the potential for miscommunication further down the line. In addition, always ask probing questions and play back what you heard during your meetings and then in writing. You overall timeline and project status should be updated regularly, not just when you have a meeting. It helps your client refer back to the latest picture very easily, thus creating a trusting and transparent relationship, and a common and shared understanding on the progress to date.
