In this field, there is a constant demand for high performance and lightweight composites, which we take into serious consideration. Our knowledge of polymeric materials and reinforcements (either fibers, fibrous structures or particles) allows us to develop multiscale composites (reinforced at different scales), multigrade composites (different properties tuned by layer) and self-sensing composites. With this knowledge combined with the know-how on the processing technologies, we are able to develop ballistic and other high-end composites.

Seeking synergy. Today we had the pleasure, together with idD Portugal Defence, of hosting an Industry Day at our HQ in Gorinchem. The event was attended by representatives of the Portuguese authorities, military and industry. Together we explored the synergies that exist between our organisations and considered ways to further integrate the Portuguese defence industry into the global naval value chain. 🇵🇹🤝🇫🇷 La première Journée Luso-Française des Industries de Défense a eu lieu la semaine dernière, marquant une étape clé dans la coopération bilatérale entre le Portugal et la France. Cet événement a été rendu possible grâce à la collaboration entre plusieurs entités : du côté portugais, l'AICEP | France, l'Ambassade du Portugal en France, la Direction Générale de la Politique de Défense Nationale, la Direction Générale des Ressources de Défense Nationale, l'État-Major Général des Forces Armées, idD Portugal Defence et AED Cluster Portugal ; du côté français, la DGA - Direction générale de l'armement, GIFAS - Groupement des Industries Françaises Aéronautiques et Spatiales, GICAN et GICAT. 🛡️🚁 Pendant deux jours, environ 25 entreprises portugaises ont eu l'opportunité de visiter des entreprises du secteur (Safran et Exail) et de tenir des réunions individuelles avec une vingtaine d'entreprises françaises, parmi lesquelles des groupes majeurs tels que Safran, Airbus, KNDS France ou MBDA. Au total, plus de 250 réunions B2B ont été organisées, en renforçant les liens entre les deux pays ! Un grand merci à tous ceux qui ont contribué à rendre cet événement possible ! #BeyondComposite was in Oslo to present one of its latest innovations, the RecycledReef. 🔬🪸 The Recycled Reef aims to combat the environmental crisis caused by plastic waste in the oceans, turning this threat into an opportunity to promote marine life and ecological sustainability. The project focuses on developing innovative modular systems made from recycled plastics to create artificial reefs. 🚆🌱 Sustainable innovations at InnoTrans 2024! 🌍🌟 InnoTrans 2024 is all about innovation, ecology, and sustainability. Exhibitors will be presenting sustainable solutions in all areas, from CO2-neutral means of transportation to resource-saving textiles. Siemens Mobility (Hall 27) is helping its customers to normalise carbon-neutral passenger and freight transport, Alstom (Hall 3.2) also offers solutions necessary for reducing the carbon footprint of transport and will design all new products to be eco-friendly by 2025. VOSSLOH (Hall 26) emphasizes the understanding of the track as an overall system, and SPITZKE SE (Hall 5.2) contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions. Companies like WAGO (Hall 13) are focusing on green innovations, such as their Green Range 221 splicing connectors with levers made of partially recycled plastics. A further highlight will be Swissrail Industry Association (halls 2.2 and 26) by reducing their carbon footprint regarding their participation. Already for the second time Switzerland will be represented on a carbon-neutral stand at InnoTrans.
