Beat - Bioeconomy at Textiles seminar organised by CeNTI: there's still so much to discover! CeNTI at the AltoMinhoScience Fest in Arcos de Valdevez! Taking part in the first edition of this initiative, which is being held at the Arcos Ciência Viva Centre from March 20th to 22nd, the Centre shows the general public some of the technologies and solutions it has developed in different areas. At the Science and Technology Exhibition, different functional and intelligent solutions are demonstrated, promising to surprise and inspire all who visit the event. In particular, the solutions from the PBA - Textiles Vertical (WP3) of the Blue Bioeconomy Pact, a Project that uses discarded fishing nets and algae, as well as more environmentally friendly processes, to produce fibres, fabrics and knitwear, creating sustainable alternatives for the Textile and Clothing Industry. ‘The Future is Now | Trends in Science and Technology’ is the theme of this science event organised by the Centro Ciência Viva dos Arcos - Oficinas de Criatividade Himalaya, which aims to share knowledge and promote scientific culture. The future of the Textile Industry is (increasingly) circular The first Beat - Bioeconomy at Textiles seminar, led by CeNTI, was held yesterday at the Centre’s facilities, providing researchers, experts and professionals with the opportunity to exchange knowledge and discuss circular, efficient, and innovative solutions based on advanced materials that are driving sustainability and the green transition in the sector. The initiative also included a tour of the Centre's facilities, showcasing the laboratories, equipment and ongoing research lines, with a special highlight on the be@t pilot line dedicate to regenerated cellulose fibres.
