This morning at 07:55, PoSAT-2 was successfully deployed into space by D-Orbit’s ION. At 10:25, we received the first beacons, confirming its activation, and at 15:15, we fully established the communication link. Now, we move into the LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase), where we will verify that all subsystems are fully operational. This is a major milestone for LusoSpace and the Portuguese space sector, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead! "La vera innovazione nasce soprattutto dall’ascolto, non solo dall’intuizione" L’errore più comune degli innovatori? Pensare che la loro visione basti a creare mercato, ma l’intuizione iniziale è solo il punto di partenza. Nel 2011 lo #spazio sembrava ancora un club esclusivo, ma D-Orbit è stata capace di inserirsi perché ha saputo intercettare il cambiamento prima degli altri: il boom dei piccoli satelliti e la necessità di un sistema più flessibile per il loro trasporto e gestione in orbita. Da qui l’evoluzione del modello: non solo soluzioni per mitigare i detriti spaziali, ma una piattaforma di logistica orbitale che oggi abilita nuove possibilità per intere industrie. Il racconto che ne fa Renato Panesi, Co-founder e CCO, in 10 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑔𝑖𝑒 𝑝𝑒𝑟 𝑙’𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑎𝑧𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑒 (Hoepli Editore) è avvincente perché, anche se il sistema di rientro progettato dall’azienda ha funzionato, restava un margine di errore. Hanno analizzato i dati, migliorato il design e scoperto un nuovo bisogno di mercato: tutti i piccoli operatori satellitari affrontavano gli stessi problemi logistici. È nato così ION (InOrbit Now), il primo “taxi spaziale” capace di trasportare e posizionare satelliti in orbite specifiche, in grado di offrire anche servizi avanzati come l’elaborazione dati direttamente nello spazio. La lezione? Il mercato non premia le idee brillanti, ma le soluzioni che rispondono a problemi reali. 🔎 Passenger Spotlight 🔎 🛰 As part of our tradition, starting today and over the coming weeks, we will be introducing the passengers aboard our ION SCV Marvelous Mathias, which was launched on March 14th, 2025. 💡 Today, we’re highlighting the HERMES Pathfinder mission, a groundbreaking project funded by Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (ASI), with contributions from INAF - Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), Università degli Studi di Cagliari, and the European Commission (EC). 🛰 HERMES is deploying a constellation of six #CubeSats designed to detect, localize, and quickly report astronomical events like Gamma Ray Bursts (GRBs). The mission features a miniaturized spectrometer developed by INAF, mounted on a highly agile 3U platform built by PoliMi ASTRAlab. 📡 With wide sky coverage, co-pointing capabilities, continuous communication via the Iridium constellation, and a dedicated network of ground stations, HERMES can transmit cosmic event data to scientists within minutes. 🙌 We’re thrilled to have you on board! 😉 Stay tuned for updates!
