We will lead the development of the work package for ground and naval studies with the objective of defining the conceptual architecture and concept of operation as the basis for the project. Today marked the successful launch of the SpainSat NG I satellite from Cape Canaveral, Florida, aboard SpaceX’s Falcon 9. This state-of-the-art satellite will ensure secure communications for the next 15 years, supporting the Spanish Armed Forces, NATO allies, and other partners. Its extensive coverage spans from Brazil to Singapore, nearly encompassing the entire globe. GMV leads the ground segment for the SpainSat NG program, integrating the systems that will manage the two satellites from ground stations in Hoyo de Manzanares and Maspalomas. Recently, SATNUS has carried out the planned flight test campaign at the facilities of the El Arenosillo Experimentation Centre (CEDEA) in Huelva, part of the activities assigned to #SATNUS in Pillar 3 of the #NGWS/ #FCAS, responsible for the maturation of technologies for Remote Carriers and Manned-Unmanned Teaming. With the support of Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial «Esteban Terradas» and for two weeks, SATNUS has carried out multiple validation flights of the MCSD demonstration platform (a modified target drone system), meeting the objectives set and establishing new challenges for future campaigns.
