PT | O LNEC, através da investigadora principal Eng.ª Elisabete Arsenio, lidera o Work Package do projeto de I&I ADMIRAL dedicado ao desenvolvimento sustentável dos transportes e logística, visando a descarbonização e a gestão inteligente dos transportes e das cadeias de abastecimento. Durante três anos, 20 parceiros de nove países da União Europeia têm trabalhado em conjunto para desenvolver novos conhecimentos e modelos, a par da tecnologia necessária para construir e implementar uma plataforma digital inovadora. O ADMIRAL marketplace será demonstrado e testado em quatro regiões: Portugal-Espanha, Eslovénia-Croácia, Lituânia e Finlândia. Em 2024 o LNEC organizou uma reunião internacional que contou com a presença de 50 membros do ADMIRAL, onde foram apresentados e discutidos resultados do projeto, e foi responsável por três relatórios científicos de grande dimensão. PT | Inaugurado em 1952, o campus do LNEC, situado na Freguesia de Alvalade, em Lisboa, e que se estende ao longo de 22 hectares, é composto por um conjunto de edifícios de grande interesse arquitetónico, construídos em diferentes épocas, e da autoria de nomes maiores da arquitetura Portuguesa, como Pardal Monteiro, Januário Godinho e João Andersen, entre outros. Os jardins, cujo projeto é da autoria dos arquitetos Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles e Fernão Vaz Pinto, contêm diversas espécies raras e exóticas. O campus do LNEC inclui ainda várias obras de interesse artístico, desde peças escultóricas, painéis e pinturas de cerâmica, de artistas conceituados, como o pintor Lino António. Em dezembro de 2012, o campus do LNEC foi classificado como Monumento de Interesse Público. No 70.º aniversário do LNEC, editou-se um E-book sobre o campus do LNEC. Ao longo destes próximos meses, vamos dar a conhecer os vários edifícios do LNEC, assim como a sua arquitetura e história. EN | Inaugurated in 1952, the LNEC campus, located in Alvalade, in Lisbon, and extending over 22 hectares, is composed of a set of buildings of great architectural interest, built at different decades, and constructed by some of the greatest figures of Portuguese architecture, such as Pardal Monteiro, Januário Godinho and João Andersen, among others. The gardens, designed by architects Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles and Fernão Vaz Pinto, contain several rare and exotic species. PT | LNEC acolhe centenas de participantes em visitas guiadas O LNEC recebeu várias visitas guiadas durante o ano de 2024, acolhendo centenas de visitantes interessados em conhecer as suas instalações, a história do Laboratório e os projetos que têm sido desenvolvidos pela sua equipa de investigadores. Reforçando o seu compromisso com a divulgação científica e técnica, através de visitas guiadas que permitem ao público conhecer mais de perto o trabalho desenvolvido, o LNEC coloca, assim, em prática o mote “da engenharia para a sociedade”. As visitas são, maioritariamente, destinadas a estudantes e profissionais das diferentes áreas de engenharia, promovendo um melhor entendimento sobre as contribuições do LNEC para o desenvolvimento da engenharia civil em Portugal e no mundo. PT | O LNEC recebeu o workshop "Avaliação Expedita da Segurança Sísmica e Reforço Estrutural". Este workshop apresentou, de forma prática, dois métodos de avaliação expeditos enquadrados na regulamentação atual, mas que têm diferentes domínios de aplicação. O workshop foi frequentado por arquitetos e engenheiros com interesse na avaliação da segurança sísmica de edifícios de betão armado, contando ainda com uma demonstração de reforço sísmico. Neste contexto, foram desenvolvidos pelo LNEC procedimentos que, não substituindo a regulamentação existente, permitem avaliar a segurança sísmica de edifícios existentes de uma forma expedita. Na parte final do workshop foi apresentada uma solução de reforço sísmico. EN | LNEC hosted the workshop "Expedited Assessment of Seismic Safety and Structural Reinforcement". This workshop presented, in a practical way, two expeditious assessment methods that fit into current regulations, but which have different areas of application. The workshop was attended by architects and engineers interested in assessing the seismic safety of reinforced concrete buildings, and also included a demonstration of seismic reinforcement. In this context, procedures have been developed by LNEC that, while not replacing existing regulations, allow the seismic safety of existing buildings to be assessed in an expeditious manner. PT | Decorreu no LNEC um Curso de Exploração e Segurança de Barragens (CESB) para técnicos superiores da Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB), de Moçambique.  O curso foi ministrado por investigadores do Departamento de Hidráulica e Ambiente (DHA), do Departamento de Geotecnia (DG) e do Departamento de Barragens de Betão (DBB), cobrindo os aspetos de hidrologia, hidráulica, ambiente, geotecnia e estruturas da engenharia de barragens. Os técnicos da HCB tiveram quatro sessões diárias de formação com a duração de hora e meia, durante oito dias. Também se realizou uma visita às instalações do LNEC associadas a estudos de engenharia de barragens e o curso terminou com uma visita de estudo de dois dias às barragens e a outras obras hidráulicas em exploração pela Empresa de Desenvolvimento e Infraestruturas de Alqueva (EDIA). Estas ações levadas a cabo pelo LNEC contribuem para a capacitação dos técnicos da HCB no seu dia a dia na gestão segura e eficiente da barragem de Cahora Bassa. EN | A Dam Operation and Safety Course (CESB) was held at LNEC for senior technicians from the Cahora Bassa Hydroelectric Plant (HCB), in Mozambique. The course was taught by researchers from the Hydraulics and Environment Department of (DHA), the Geotechnics Department (DG) and Concrete Dams Department (DBB), covering the aspects of hydrology, hydraulics, environment, geotechnics and structures of the dam engineering. HCB technicians had four daily training sessions lasting one and a half hours, for eight days. A visit was also made to the LNEC facilities associated with dam engineering studies and the course ended with a two-day study visit to the dams and other hydraulic works in operation by the Alqueva Development and Infrastructure Company (EDIA).
