O OMNI Aviation Training Center (OATC) foi criado em 1998 como um departamento da OMNI Aviação e Tecnologia, S.A. Em 2003, com a introdução dos padrões JAR-FCL, a OMNI obteve a certificação JAR-FCL como Flight Training Organization (FTO) e Type Rating Training Organization (TRTO), em Setembro de 2004. Em Setembro de 2007, o OMNI Aviation Training Center tornou-se uma empresa independente, não só devido ao rápido crescimento do Grupo OMNI, mas também ao elevado número de alunos e à experiência acumulada ao longo dos anos. Nessa mesma altura, obteve o seu próprio certificado JAR-FCL, conseguindo assim expandir as capacidades e garantir a autonomia para satisfazer as necessidades de formação do Grupo OMNI e de outras empresas de Aviação em Portugal e no resto do Mundo.
