🎉 ESA Space Solutions Portugal celebrated its 10th anniversary this year at the Coimbra Invest Summit! 🚀 For a decade, this programme has driven the development of the space sector in Portugal, consolidating the Centro region as an epicentre of innovation and entrepreneurship.  🌍 This was the topic discussed by Miguel Fonseca, Município de Coimbra, Sophie Patricio, Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Centro, I. Gestão Responsável do Solo: - Permitem-nos rastrear quem gere a sua terra de forma responsável, mostrando o "antes e depois" da remoção de combustível, assegurando o cumprimento das normas de uso do solo e distâncias seguras para a plantação de árvores. Impacto na Regeneração Florestal: - Medimos a velocidade de regeneração em diferentes contextos, comparando: - Áreas com projetos de regeneração assistida com Soluções de Base na Natureza. - Zonas de recuperação natural. - Plantações de monocultura. Conclusões Claras: - Projetos de regeneração assistida com Soluções de Base na Natureza: - Focam-se em espécies nativas, incluem proteção das espécies introduzidas e métodos de rega sustentável. - Regeneram até 50% mais rápido e são 35% mais resistentes a incêndios que plantações de monocultura, como o eucalipto. Plantações de monocultura: - São geralmente menos eficazes na mitigação dos riscos de incêndio e na preservação da biodiversidade. Recuperação natural: Mais lenta e, em alguns casos, leva à proliferação de espécies invasoras, o que prejudica ainda mais a biodiversidade. Dados Concretos, Não Especulação: - Isto não são ideias especulativas ou objetivos de lucro rápido com monoculturas como o eucalipto. - O problema não está nas empresas de exploração florestal responsáveis ou nos proprietários que respeitam as distâncias legais e regulamentos. - O problema são as plantações de monocultura descontroladas, onde o lucro é priorizado em detrimento da segurança, sustentabilidade e saúde dos ecossistemas. Esclarecimento sobre o Eucalipto: - O eucalipto pode e deve ser usado em projetos florestais específicos. - No entanto, a sua plantação generalizada em todo o país como monocultura, sem respeito por distâncias de segurança e limites definidos pelo uso dos solos, não se alinha com os objetivos da Lei Europeia de Restauração da Natureza, que prioriza a biodiversidade, a saúde dos ecossistemas e o uso sustentável do solo.
