It is amazing what can happen when great hearts and minds collaborate for good 🚀 Last week, the Lisbon Project teamed up with ReFi Lisboa to host two insightful Blockchain Masterclasses, with a total of 32 participants. These sessions introduced our community of migrants and refugees to the world of blockchain and Web3 technology 💻 💡 Key highlights? 1. We explored Blockchain Technology: from its decentralized system to its impact across industries. 2. Learned how blockchain is reshaping finance, including cryptocurrencies and cross-border transactions. 3. Gained a deeper understanding of the Web3 Ecosystem, comparing tools like Google Drive vs. Filecoin, Paypal vs. Metamask, and Facebook vs. Odysee. In the second half of each masterclass, we also dived into Regenerative Finance (ReFi) — a movement using tech to address social and environmental challenges, showcasing case studies of successful ReFi projects. 🚀 These masterclasses matter to our community because Blockchain and Web3 offer new pathways for employment in rapidly growing fields, accessible to anyone regardless of background. Participants learned about job opportunities such as community managers, 3D designers, and marketers, roles that don’t require prior tech experience, helping migrants and refugees overcome barriers to traditional employment. By empowering our CMs with knowledge of cutting-edge technologies, we equip our community to integrate more easily into the digital economy, create career opportunities, and build a more secure future. The material was beginner-friendly, motivating, and left many eager to dive deeper! What a week! 🚀 Last week, we kicked off our first ReFi Lisboa education session, diving into blockchain and regenerative finance (ReFi) with an incredible local community. Huge shoutout to the Lisbon Project for being the dream partner on this – they do such amazing work with immigrants and refugees, helping them build new lives here in Portugal. 💚 And this is just the beginning. 2025? Oh, we’re coming in strong! We’ve got big plans to onboard more people and support new projects and ideas that will shake things up in Portugal’s regenerative innovation ecosystem and beyond.
