Creating a European Learning Hub on Radicalisation
Sobre nós
The HOPE project strives to create a European Learning Hub on Radicalisation, a network that supports continuous training and knowledge sharing in the Balkan, Southern and Eastern European countries.Creating a European Learning Hub on Radicalisation. This network aims to intervene in radicalisation prevention and disengagement and improve the transition between the prison/probation system and the community, for those at risk of radicalisation or who have already been radicalised. With a regional focus, HOPE aims to improve the transition from prison or probation to the community for those at risk of radicalisation or who have already been radicalised. The project will achieve this outcome by promoting a holistic radicalisation prevention initiative focusing on offenders, front line staff and community organisations. Through training, correctional staff and professionals from other institutions will have more capacity to deal with the inmates — and get to know useful tools to tackle everyday challenges. Training and research organisations, academics, prison, and probation administrations comprise the HOPE project network. The project “HOPE – HOlistic radicalisation Prevention initiativE” is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Regional Cooperation.

Radicalisation poses a persistent concern for Europe, manifesting across diverse contexts and beliefs within various jurisdictions. In Balkan and Eastern European countries, these challenges are amplified by their unique contextual nuances and associated threats. ➡️ Through the HOPE project (Holistic Radicalisation Prevention Initiative), we've established a network of experts and practitioners and delved into the lived realities of prison and community professionals and organisations in preventing and countering radicalisation and violent extremism. We worked together to find both holistic strategies and tailored approaches to address the distinct challenges each jurisdiction faces. 📸 Today, we are hosting the HOPE International Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, bringing together participants representing 14 countries and 5 international organisations, including the Council of Europe, OSCE, the Confederation of European Probation, and the International Organisation for Migration. 👥Our diverse audience includes researchers, law enforcement representatives, policy and programme coordinators, as well as decision-makers from national prison, probation and community systems, all eager to gain insights into our project's approach and outcomes. We are showcasing the impactful results of our research and knowledge-sharing endeavours, which have played a pivotal role in shaping our comprehensive strategy for preventing and countering radicalisation and violent extremism in Balkan countries. Our goal is to foster close collaboration between criminal justice and community stakeholders and facilitate the development and implementation of tailored solutions that will effectively mitigate the risks of radicalisation and violent extremism in the Balkans and beyond. 🌐Learn more about the HOPE project partnership and join our network: www.hope-radproject.org #EEANorwayGrants #FundforRegionalCooperation #PCVE #Radicalisation #Europe
