Aspetar is a world-leading specialised orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital and the first of its kind in the Middle East. Since 2007, with a global team of experts, the hospital has provided top-level comprehensive medical treatment to all athletes in a state-of-the-art facility that sets new standards internationally. Through the delivery of excellence in sports medicine, physiotherapy, sports science, orthopaedic surgery, and rehabilitation, Aspetar services the needs of football and Sports Clubs and Federations throughout the state of Qatar, and regularly provides services to international athletes and the public. In 2009, Aspetar was accredited as a ‘FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence’ by F-MARC. Aspetar was certified as ‘The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Research Centre for Prevention of Injury and Protection of Athlete Health’ in 2014. In 2015, Aspetar was recognised as the ‘International Handball Federation (IHF) Reference Centre for Athlete and Referee Health’, and achieved the Accreditation Canada International (ACI) ‘Diamond Level’ accreditation award in 2018. The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) accredited Aspetar as an AFC Medical Centre of Excellence in 2020, and in 2021 Aspetar became the first healthcare organisation globally to achieve 100% compliance to all applicable standards within Accreditation Canada’s Qmentum International accreditation program. Aspetar is a member–organisation of Aspire Zone Foundation, Qatar’s innovative sports and healthy lifestyle destination. Aspetar provides a full service offering from injury prevention to injury management and performance improvement. The philosophy of Aspetar is to provide sportspeople with clinical support, knowledge, and the facilities to maximise their training and competitive potential. This is achieved through tailored education programmes and support in areas of health including fitness assessment, nutrition, psychology, physiology, and physical training.

Today, Aspetar hosted the Bone Stress Injury Symposium, an international event focused on the medical aspects of bone stress management. Our esteemed faculty of world experts discussed the physiopathology of bone stress injuries (BSI) and emphasized Aspetar’s multidisciplinary approach to diagnosing and treating athletes with suspected BSIs. Attendees gained valuable insights into crucial topics such as red flags for BSI surgery, adjunct treatments, and Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S).

Aspetar, the Qatar Table Tennis Federation, and the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) today signed a tripartite agreement under which Aspetar will provide comprehensive medical and sports medicine services for the World Table Tennis Championships, to be held in the Qatari capital, Doha, in May 2025 🏓 In addition to providing medical support services for the championship, Aspetar will also host the 17th ITTF Scientific Congress in Doha, a major event that will bring together leading experts in sports science to discuss the latest developments and practices in sports medicine. وقع سبيتار والاتحاد القطري لتنس الطاولة والاتحاد الدولي لتنس الطاولة (ITTF) اليوم اتفاقية ثلاثية يقوم بموجبها مستشفى سبيتار بتقديم خدمات طبية شاملة وخدمات الطب الرياضي لبطولة العالم لتنس الطاولة التي تقام في العاصمة القطرية الدوحة في مايو 2025. 🏓🔝🇶🇦 بالإضافة إلى تقديم خدمات الدعم الطبي للبطولة، سيستضيف مستشفى سبيتار أيضًا المؤتمر العلمي السابع عشر للاتحاد الدولي لتنس الطاولة في الدوحة، وهو حدث مهم سيجمع نخبة الخبراء في مجال علوم الرياضة لمناقشة أحدث التطورات والممارسات في الطب الرياضي. #TableTennis
