This week, #GBCQ members came together for a valuable #LegalBreakfast, organized by the German Business Council Qatar, German Industry and Commerce Office Qatar (AHK Qatar) in partnership with #GBCQ member Clyde & Co to delve into the #NationalisationLaw, which will come into effect on 17 April 2025. Key insights from the event: •The law requires Qatarisation for roles in private establishments, commercial companies, and not-for-profit organisations, with an exemption for companies linked to Qatar Energy. •A new contract template will be introduced, ensuring adherence to nationalisation policies and outlining penalties for non-compliance by employers and Qatari nationals. •The Ministry of Labour will soon introduce a comprehensive Qatarisation plan for private-sector roles.
