Hamad Medical Corporation is the main provider of secondary and tertiary healthcare in Qatar

نبذة عنا

Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is the main provider of secondary and tertiary healthcare in Qatar and one of the leading hospital providers in the Middle East. For more than three decades, HMC has been dedicated to delivering the safest, most effective and compassionate care to all its patients. HMC manages twelve hospitals – nine specialist hospitals and three community hospitals – as well as the National Ambulance Service and home and residential care services. In January 2016, HMC achieved the significant distinction of becoming the first healthcare system across the globe to have all its hospitals accredited by Joint Commission International under the Academic Medical Center accreditation program. Additionally, the National Ambulance Service, Home Healthcare Service, Stroke Service and Palliative Care, have all received this prestigious accreditation since 2011. To meet the needs of a rapidly growing population, HMC has announced ambitious plans to expand capacity across its network through to 2030. HMC is leading the development of the region’s first academic health system – combining innovative research, top-class education and excellent clinical care – and is committed to building a legacy of healthcare expertise in Qatar. HMC collaborates with key partners who are experts in Qatar and beyond, including Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and Partners Healthcare, Boston. HMC is also the first hospital system in the Middle East to achieve institutional accreditation from the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education – International (ACGME-I), which demonstrates excellence in the way medical graduates are trained through residency, internship and fellowship programs. Baby Aisha and Baby Hamad the First Babies to be Born at Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital On Tuesday 17 September, babies Aisha and Hamad became the first babies to be born at Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital (AAH), one of Hamad Medical Corporation’s newest and most advanced hospitals. The births are part of a soft launch of obstetrics and gynecology services at the hospital which will fully open on Friday 27 September, as AAH continues its expansion of services. Healthcare teams at AAH supported the successful births of the two babies, each named after the hospital of their birth. Baby Aisha was the first to be born at the hospital and her father, Mr Abdelrahman Ahmad Azem, thanked healthcare teams for their professionalism and compassion. “We are immensely grateful to all the staff at Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital for the care they provided during this special moment in our lives. We are delighted to name our beautiful girl after the hospital of her birth.” Shortly after the birth of baby Aisha, healthcare teams at AAH welcomed baby Hamad into the world. “We couldn’t be happier with the quality of care we received throughout the birthing process at Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital. The individual private labor rooms provided a welcoming and personalized environment to welcome Hamad into the world said Abdulaziz Said Al Marri, baby Hamad’s father. “From the moment we arrived we were treated with kindness. When learning of Aisha’s birth and her naming after the hospital, we were delighted to choose the name Hamad to mark this proud moment in our lives.” Several obstetrics and gynecology services will also transfer from Al Khor Hospital to AAH on 27 September. This relocation will allow obstetrics and gynecology services to combine with specialist departments, ensuring access to a wide range of medical interventions, advanced surgeries and specialists for immediate care whenever needed. Dr. Ibrahim Fawzy, Medical Director explained that since opening in 2022, AAH has continued to expand its range of services. “The commencement of obstetrics and gynecology services at AAH follows the recent opening of male physiotherapy and pediatric emergency services at the hospital. AAH’s state-of-the-art facilities and specialized medical expertise have improved access to high-quality care in the surrounding area and are delivering streamlined care for patients.” To read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/dZRMPiu3 #HMC #AishaBintHamadAlAttiyahHospital #Babies #Newborns #FirstBabiesBorn #AAH #Healthcare #OBGYN #Obstretrics #Gynecology #BabyAisha #BabyHamad #Doha #Qatar #LaborandDelivery #Maternal #Services #Relocation

Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Tobacco Control Center, a World Health Organization (WHO) collaborating center for treating tobacco dependence, participated in the Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition (S’hail 2024) from 10 to 14 September. Under the slogan "Catch It Before It Catches You," the center set up an educational booth to raise awareness among exhibition visitors about the harms of tobacco use, particularly new tobacco products, and to highlight the center’s role in supporting smokers who wish to quit. During the exhibition, the center distributed informational brochures, emphasizing the importance of quitting smoking to prevent serious and chronic diseases and lead a healthier lifestyle. The team at the booth also addressed visitor enquiries about effective smoking cessation methods and the services offered by the center. Additionally, carbon monoxide level testing was available for smokers attending the exhibition. The booth highlighted the harmful effects of nicotine pouches, also known as Sweika or European snus, which are small white pouches placed inside the mouth between the gums and inner lip. These pouches contain nicotine and added flavors, with a higher concentration of nicotine than other tobacco products. It is important to note that nicotine pouches have not been approved as a smoking cessation aid. #HMC #SmokingCessation #QuitSmoking #Healthcare #TobaccoControlCenter #Doha #Qatar #WHO #Katara #FalconsExhibition #Catchitbeforeitcatchesyou To read more visit: https://lnkd.in/dxW2Yciw https://lnkd.in/dKseA9kq
