📑 The Digital Decade 2024 reports by European Countries is now available and we’re presenting some interesting findings related to the digital evolution in education and digital literacy. The reports detail the current progress towards achieving the targets of the Digital Decade for each Member State. 🇷🇴 With 95% coverage of households (second highest in the EU), Romania is close to delivering almost full FTTP coverage to its citizens and businesses, including in rural areas, where coverage is 92.5% already and still progressing quickly. Our country also has the highest take up of high-speed internet in the EU: 94% of internet connections are at speeds of 100Mbps. 👩💻 This means that the potential to use digital technologies is already facilitated by the infrastructure. Though, not even 50% of the Romanian public schools have implemented a digital management system. 🤝 Next to ANIS Romania, we are currently discussing with the Romanian Ministry of Education the idea of extending the enrollment period for the schools that want to use the electronic gradebook exclusively during the upcoming school year. 👨💻 The interest is significant, as many schools wish to implement this solution to avoid double addannotation by transitioning fully to the digital version of the gradebook. This initiative marks the fourth year of the pilot program for exclusively using the digital gradebook. The requests have grown from 200 schools in its first year to over 1500 currently. The digitalization effort aims to modernize the education system, allowing schools to print necessary documents from the platform only at the end of the year, while fully embracing a digital environment. ⬇️ Let's support the modernization of our educational system! "Students will receive various questions in the app that they can easily answer with an emoticon. For example, the response to the question 'how do you feel today' can be correlated with certain actions on the platform – absences, lower grades at school, or behavioral aspects, things related to students' activities.
