Asociatia de Dezvoltare Intercomunitara Zona Metropolitana Bucuresti (ADIZMB) at the Urbact S.M.ALL Transnational Meeting in Komotini Recently, a delegation of the Bucharest-Ilfov Metropolitan Area Intercommunity Development Association (ADIZMB) attended the latest transnational meeting of the Urbact S.M.ALL project, held in Komotini, Greece. The two-day event provided us with the opportunity to showcase our local initiatives and learn from the experiences of other European cities. The topics discussed included: -       Urban revitalization strategies: how public spaces can be transformed to create more attractive and functional urban environments. -       Community participation: examples of best practices to involve citizens in the decision-making process. -       Innovation and sustainability: projects and innovative ideas for greener cities. With a transnational approach to reduce urban inequalities, harmonize sustainable mobility practices, and enhance inclusion, the S.M.ALL consortium brings together diverse experiences and expertise in sustainable urban mobility. Its goal is to promote significant changes in urban spaces, making them more inclusive and accessible for everyone. Revitalizarea Depoului Victoria: întâlnirea Grupului Local Urbact conturează ideea unui Muzeu al Transportului Luni, 20 mai 2024, Asociatia de Dezvoltare Intercomunitara Zona Metropolitana Bucuresti (ADIZMB) a organizat cea de-a treia întâlnire a Grupului Local Urbact (ULG), din cadrul proiectului Green Place ”Let’s Do It Together”, proiect finanțat prin programul URBACT. Din agenda întâlnirii, care a avut loc la Depoul Victoria, s-au remarcat 3 momente importante: -       Tur ghidat: reprezentantul depoului, domnul Marius Asolomiei, le-a oferit participanților un tur și explicații detaliate privind activitățile curente, fluxul tehnologic al depoului. -       Dezbatere constructivă: la finalul turului, membrii grupului au participat la o dezbatere despre soluțiile posibile pentru conversia și transformarea depoului într-un echipament public cu caracter cultural și reprezentativ pentru oraș. -       Consens asupra viitorului: grupul a ajuns la consens privind ideea de amenajare a unui Muzeu al Transportului care ar trebui să fie completată de activități publice conexe și variate, să fie un spațiu public atractiv și foarte bine conectat cu vecinătățile. Moderating the METREX Spring Conference Brussels 2024 Roundtable on Governance Structures and Strategies The second day of the METREX Spring Conference 2024 in Brussels, on May 16, gave me the role of serving as a moderator for an interactive roundtable on a very impactful topic: Are we fit for the future? 💡 One of the highlights was the keynote address by Sandeep Shingadia FCILT, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Delivery Integration at Transport for West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), which represents around 4 million people. Sandeep explained how, in collaboration with local authority partners, they are driving inclusive economic growth and investing in transport, skills, and housing. ☑️ Dynamic and engaging discussions sparked around a pressing question: What do we need, in terms of actions and resources, to improve ourselves in order be tailored to metropolitan realities? I am happy to announce that Asociatia de Dezvoltare Intercomunitara Zona Metropolitana Bucuresti (ADIZMB) will be hosting the next METREX - The Network of European Metropolitan Regions and Areas Conference – the autumn edition in Bucharest.
