GKN Aerospace Cowes completes 1.2MW Solar Farm, taking a firm step forward toward Sustainability! We're thrilled to announce the completion of our 1.2MW solar farm at GKN Aerospace Isle of Wight East Cowes site! This impressive project, generating over 1.15 million kWh annually, now powers 20% of our site’s energy needs, reducing our carbon footprint by 238 tonnes—equivalent to planting 9,000+ trees or taking 170 cars off the road! A special thank you richard quigley MP, the newly elected Member of Parliament for Isle of Wight West, who joined us to tour the facility, view the solar farm, and celebrate this step toward net-zero. The ASCEND project team were able to show how they had embedded collaboration from the start and throughout the project with a real focus on knowledge sharing and lesson learning. By embracing constructive challenge this team, which stretched across the UK, achieved their objectives while taking their community with them. And they had real project success too.
