🔔Term of the Day: SME (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise) ✅ An SME is an entity that engages in economic activities, regardless of its legal form or profit-making purpose. ✅ An SME can have up to 250 employees and an annual turnover of up to 50 million EUR and/or total assets valued at up to 43 million EUR. ✳ In the context of Smart Specialization Parks, the SME resident must be established under Law 31/1990 and must open a business location (registered office) within the parks no later than upon the completion of the investment. ✳ Additionally, in determining SME status, it’s important to consider partner and linked enterprises, which you can learn more about in today’s post. 🔔Remember! 🩺 This weekend, Cluj-Napoca hosted the EIT Health i-Days #Hackathon, a vibrant competition where university students gathered to tackle pressing health challenges for migrants and refugees. ⚖️ Anca joined as a jury member, helping to review some truly inspiring ideas! Over an intensive two-day program, students from various academic fields learned to use hands-on health innovation tools, forming teams and brainstorming solutions to real-life challenges. Anca was thrilled to see the passion and creativity each team brought to the table—it’s a clear sign of the bright future of #HealthInnovation in our ecosystem! We’re looking forward to seeing more fresh ideas come to life in Romania’s healthcare landscape. 💡
