🎙️ Last week, our CEO Viorel Cretu was a speaker at the Romanian Business Leaders first regional conference in Neamț. The event gathered top entrepreneurs from national and local businesses, marking the official launch of the Romanian Business Leaders Neamț branch. In the panel called 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘃𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, Viorel Crețu talked about the major contribution of the furniture industry to the Romanian economy, outlining its main differentiators compared to other countries in the region:  ✅ access to rich natural resources and its well-known tradition in wood processing ✅ strong exports, as Romania is the sixth largest exporter of furniture in the EU ✅ artisan quality and flexibility - Romanian manufacturers are recognized for their ability to create small and customized series, with a high level of attention to details and superior finishing ✅ creativity and innovative design - in recent years, Romanian furniture producers have started to stand out through design, not just execution. The Nord Arin CEO also discussed the 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 at the moment and presented several ideas and solutions to overcome them. He mentioned, among others: ❗insufficient digitalization and limited automation of production lines ❗the shortage of specialized labor force in wood processing ❗limited government support and financing programs for factory modernization and automation These shortcomings affect Romania's competitiveness and place it behind countries like Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Viorel Crețu thinks that consistent investments in automation & digitalization, in sustainability, education, and branding can help Romanian manufacturers stay relevant in the long run and boost their competitiveness in the rapidly changing landscape of the global furniture industry. Last but not least, our CEO highlighted some of the most 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 recently adopted or under implementation 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗔𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, meant to enhance our manufacturing capabilities, productivity and adaptability to the demanding industry standards: 1️⃣ installation of new generation wood processing equipment and high precision machines 2️⃣ implementation of advanced technologies for quality control and monitoring 3️⃣ integration of a new production management software 4️⃣ digitalization of internal processes 5️⃣ last generation design and engineering software 6️⃣ eco-aware solutions and harnessing green energy 👏 Congratulations, Romanian Business Leaders Neamț, for a first successful edition!
