Via Transilvanica

Via Transilvania Springs Via Transilvanica is a project built on values we have believed in for over 24 years. One of the most important is to do meaningful things. Based on this, we have developed the five springs that we placed in two of the seven regions on the route, Bucovina and the Highlands. These springs are not only a utility, but also true works of art, inspired by the already iconic andesite kilometer stones. They are part of an infrastructure unseen in the country. We chose the sites for these springs, sampled the water to make sure it was safe to drink, and in three places we connected to the local water network. This was made possible thanks to the support from local communities, the municipalities of Fundu Moldovei, Dorna Candrenilor, Șieuț and Livezile, the team and last but not least, our partners Coca-Cola HBC Romania, who are supporting this project as part of the "Ziua Bună - Ziua Voluntarilor Mici" project, to whom we are deeply grateful. Water and access to it are some of the most important aspects of the infrastructure of a long-distance trail. Stopping at a spring is a special moment in the journey, a time to rehydrate, to refresh, to reflect. It is the essential break to be able to move on. Via Transilvanica, for the second time in National Geographic To see "Via Transilvanica" written in black and white in National Geographic magazine is something that only appears in our wildest dreams. However, we have just found our path again, making its place in this legendary publication, in the words of our friend, Monica Suma, and photographically illustrated by paolo verzone. To be perfectly honest, we are speechless (and perhaps it's for the best, to let this story do the talking), because we have discovered perhaps the most authentic portrait of the path we have seen so far, apart from the trail itself. From the essence of the project, to the natural and cultural landscape it traverses, and even its technical details, it's all here. And they are written with love for the journey. We have the second episode of Alex Dima's travels on #ThePathThatUnites, a series supported by Banca Transilvania, our strategic partner. This time, Alex Dima explores Terra Siculorum and Tera Saxonum. Along the way he discovers the rich history of these areas, linked to the heritage of the Transylvanian Szeklers and Saxons, who have left specific traditions, customs, words and recipes in these parts of the country. We see these things as part of a valuable cultural heritage that deserves to be protected, known and understood. On his journey, Alex met many other hikers: some American, some French, some German, which shows that already Via Transilvanica is playing the role of a country ambassador and that it manages to talk about this heritage in a genuine, sincere way. Meet our colleague, Neluțu, in charge of managing the machines we use to build and maintain the Via Transilvanica route, as there are things that simply can’t be done with human strength alone. As you know, sometimes we need to intervene quickly, which involves moving bollards, signs or even some of the equipment used to lay out sections of the route, where we must clear up massively and intervene with infrastructure. Our truck, an amazing Mercedes Arocs, is perfect for maintaining the path that unites to the quality standard which we set out during the trail construction. Thanks to it and our reliable partners, we have a well-marked, safe, and spectacular trail. We are very happy to have this machine in our yard thanks to the Star Transmission & Star Assembly team that has been with us for a long time. We're in National Geographic! Recently, National Geographic has ranked 25 of the world's must-see destinations in 2025. Among the extraordinary locations in Guatemala, Mexico and Thailand, there's also a city in our own country! From Romania, Brașov is on the list and shares the place with Via Transilvanica as must-visit destinations in the coming year. We are very happy that more and more international publications are recommending our route, and we can already see this on the trail as we have more and more hikers from abroad coming to get to know our country. The run of your life | OFFICIAL TRAILER, in Romanian cinemas from November 8 In the fall of 2022, nine endurance runners met a challenge: to try to cross the country from one end to the other on Romania's first long-distance trail, Via Transilvanica. They have almost 1,400 kilometers of road ahead of them, on a path that crosses ten counties and many communities and natural landscapes, each with its own challenges. For 25 days, together with Tibi Ușeriu, they face pains and dilemmas, and what appeared to be a story about a run becomes a deeply human exploration. Starting November 8, we kick off the “The Run of Your Life” caravan, the movie version of the extraordinary marathon that Tibi Ușeriu and eight other endurance runners set to do across the country two years ago. The movie is the story of their adventure on Via Transilvanica, 1,400 kilometers run in 25 days. The trail through the eyes of people whose lives have led them to discover running as: a form of therapy, a way of testing physical or mental limits, of managing daily life, of searching, for oneself, for those close to them. Their stories have come together on the path that unites them, in an extraordinary journey, not devoid of pain and difficulties, but with much humor and passion. The first teaser of the movie "The Run of Your Life" is here, with Tibi Ușeriu telling about one of the most spectacular adventures on Via Transilvanica: nine endurance athletes set out to run the entire 1,400-kilometer route in 25 days, knowing all too well that it would be a unique but painful experience. It was happening in 2022, before the official inauguration of the route.
