Since Gore's early years, plant parties and holiday celebrations have contributed to a sense of camaraderie at work, helping us to deliver on founder Bill Gore's objective of “making money and having fun doing so.” This includes plenty of Halloween fun, dating back to a costume parade at our first plant in 1960. Associates keep the tradition alive today with costume contests, trunk-or-treat events and other seasonal festivities. Enjoy a snapshot from one of this year's events and a favorite from our archives. The latter shows two Associates in 1960 dressed as a an early Gore electronic cable and the tape-wrapper machine that would have produced it. #LifeAtGore #CompanyCulture #Halloween 🎃

At Gore, we believe in celebrating our successes and having fun together. This includes a recent 80s-themed party to mark the 40th anniversary of our Barksdale plant in Delaware. From neon sweaters to side ponytails and a “Where’s Waldo” sighting, the festivities hearkened back to Barksdale’s early days. Once a manufacturing facility, the plant is now home to our Capabilities Center and is our “front door” to Gore. It is a space to showcase our incredible and passionate Associates, demonstrate our innovative technologies and inspire collaborative partnerships. During the celebration, Gore family member and Associate Betty Snyder took us through the history of Barksdale, while CEO Bret Snyder joined in the festivities. Such an amazing day at W. L. Gore & Associates in Barksdale, DE for our second Howard University College of Engineering and Architecture Office of Student Services’ Experiential Friday! Great presentations and demonstrations. Awesome facilities! We even did some product testing in the Rain Room. Our clothes were bone dry under those Gore slicker suits! October marks Disability Awareness Month, a time to celebrate the significant accomplishments of people with disabilities and reinforce the importance of inclusive and accessible environments where everyone can fully engage and contribute. Our SWAG diversity network (Strong Working Abilities Across Gore) plays a critical role in fostering inclusivity and awareness. This includes connecting Associates with valuable educational and support resources and hosting engaging information sessions, like a recent neurodiversity panel discussion in collaboration with Gore’s Latin America DE&I network.
