🏓 #IXcSport news: IXcellerate has claimed the first-place trophy in the doubles tournament "Grand" as part of the Champions Business League! The table tennis season has started with doubles tournaments across various weight categories: "Super Elite," "Elite," "Prestige," "Grand," "Master," "Amateur," "Debutant," "Contender," and "Start." On October 19, Roman Mashava and Vlad Murashev participated in the group stage of the "Prestige" tournament. Competing against top opponents, they made it to 1/8 funals, but unfortunately they lost to the "Scoring Bureau" team. On October 26, the group stage of the "Grand" tournament took place, featuring Rostom Margiev and Pamir Sarybaev. After advancing from the group stage and nearly facing defeat in the quarter-finals (trailing 0:2), they swiftly changed their game strategy, made it to the finals, and ultimately secured first place in their division! 🏆 Congratulations to Rostom and Pamir on their first place in the "Grand" doubles tournament! This victory is a testament to the extensive preparation and hard work of the entire IXcellerate table tennis team! What is happening in the data center market in Russia: new capacities for new tasks. Anastasya Neumann, Commercial Director of IXcellerate, noted in her review for RBC Trends portal that the data center industry is undergoing significant changes against the backdrop of increasing digitalization and the introduction of AI. 🔹 The capacities of Russian data centers are rapidly increasing: in recent years, energy demands for server racks have risen by 2-4 times. In 2024, the average requested power per rack space at IXcellerate is 11.6 kW, with installations exceeding 20 kW per rack becoming the norm. High demand for #colocation services comes from cloud providers, the financial sector, and e-commerce. ☁ “We are now starting to sign contracts for new data halls/data centers six months and sometimes even a year before their actual comissioning. This confirms that available capacities are still insufficient for the customers, who are currently in the market and who are requesting conditions for high-density colocation in data centers,” notes Anastasia Neumann. According to Neumann's forecast, the capacity shortage in the Moscow region will persist until 2025, and the balance between supply and demand is likely to be achieved by 2026 after the commissioning of new data centers. 🏗 We have been building, building, and… continue to build modern data centers for over 10 years! Recently, we introduced you to our first "greenfield" MOS3 data center, located in the Moscow North Campus. Since last year, we have been carrying out extensive work on an area of over 7,000 m², and we are soon approaching the finish line! We are sharing a brief photo report on the finishing and closing of the external contour of the data center that we prepared while the weather was good. The ongoing works and the materials used ensure energy efficiency of the data center, fire resistance, and resilience to various weather conditions (including temperature fluctuations, humidity, wind load and solar exposure), as well as protect the building from unauthorized access and other external threats. ✅ All materials are made in Russia, environmentally safe, and comply with GOST standards. For example: • facade sandwich panels with a thickness of 150mm and a fire resistance rating of 150 minutes; • internal sandwich panels used for constructing partitions between data halls, technical corridors, and administrative areas, available in different thicknesses (120, 150 and 240 mm) with fire resistance ratings ranging from 120 to 180 minutes; • floor-to-ceiling glass facade; • metal structures for internal partitions and chiller racks. Before installation, we conduct physical and mechanical tests and compliance control. 🎓 From October 21 to 25, an international conference dedicated to modern problems of thermal physics, power engineering and scientific achievements in these fields took place in Moscow at National Research University "MPEI". IXcellerate was event’s sponsor and a partner of the round table, where the challenges of thermal stabilization of data center equipment were discussed. Technical experts from IXcellerate, Sergey Vyshemirskiy and Dmitry Filimonov, presented a report on the quality of data centers for cloud computing, key design principles and requirements for engineering infrastructure. In their presentation, they emphasized the importance of upgrading data center cooling systems in the light of the increasing power consumption of server racks and air flow requirements for cooling server cabinets. As a solution to the air shortage in data halls, IXcellerate's Laboratory project was introduced, which aims to test combined air-liquid cooling systems under various loads. ✅ The audience showed particular interest in the solution being developed by the IXcellerate R&D team, capable of cooling server racks with a load of up to 100 kW. Key implemented technologies include dry coolers with adiabatic pre-cooling and cool walls with a freon circuit, which are responsible for solution’s efficiency. #IXcellerate #DC #IT #datacenter #conference #cloudcomputing

We have opened a new season of events with our cloud partners! On October,10 the autumn meeting of Digital Wind took place at the Windmill customer center IXcellerate South Campus. We held it in collaboration with our partner, DataRu. The event titled “Cloud at Your Fingertips” focused on the infrastructure of digital solutions and covered the most relevant topics of the year: 🔹an overview of trends in the big data and cloud technology market; 🔹cloud solutions and comprehensive approaches to working with big data; 🔹the role of data centers and their place in the “digital ecosystem.” After the business part of the program the guests enjoyed a tour of the operating MOS5 data center, and the evening concluded with a buffet and a live performance by IXcellerate Band&Friends! 🛡 Qrator has chosen the MOS5 data center in the South Campus of IXcellerate to launch its new traffic filtration center. With the opening of this new point of presence in Moscow, Qrator Labs significantly enhances its network capabilities, enabling minimal latency for clients across Russia. ✅ The scrubbing center at MOS5 boasts high bandwidth (> 4 Tbps) and is capable to effectively handle extreme loads caused by DDoS attacks, which is particularly crucial given the rising cyber threats. Therefore, many companies prefer outsourcing and alternative solutions for hosting their IT infrastructure and online resources. ✅ The most common options are colocation and cloud hosting in commercial data centres. Each of these approaches has its own unique characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, potential customers often ask themselves: which to choose – colocation or cloud hosting? Colocation is a service of placing client equipment at the data centre operator and connecting it to high-speed communication channels. Cloud hosting is fundamentally different from colocation of server hardware. In this case, the owner of a website or other digital product hosts it on remote servers owned by a company that provides cloud services. ☁ The Russian vendor of technological solutions and services DataRu has selected the IXcellerate data center as one of the sites to host its platform “DataRu Cloud” platform. The decision to move to an external facility was made due to the expansion of DataRu’s business. In 2024, the vendor launched several new directions, including cloud services. The “DataRu Cloud” portfolio includes #IaaS, #HaaS, #PaaS, and #SaaS products. ✅ “DataRu Cloud” was looking for a data center with confirmed plans of new construction, power capacity growth and additional rack spaces for years to come. Also, the principal conditions were data center neutrality, high level of connectivity, transparent pricing principles and predictable cost scaling.
