During the inaugural Norrsken Africa Week event held at the Norrsken House in Kigali, Rwanda, our CEO, Jansen Durham, had the privilege of sharing our journey with a distinguished audience, including His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame. Here are a few takeaways from Jansen’s pitch: At Fixa, we are reimagining the Future of Work in Africa. Fixa's journey has been driven by a mission to digitize informal employment and empower the invisible workforce of Africa. Here's a glimpse into our transformative approach: Building the Tools: Over the last two years, we've been on a mission to support informal workers in accessing opportunities. In doing so, we have built technology tools enabling human resource management at scale. Digital Career Identities: We have crafted digital career identities, by capturing work history and the skills of workers. Management Tools: We have built management tools for businesses to track attendance and communicate with workers offline. Payment Solutions: We integrated with mobile money wallets to pay workers at scale. Empowerment: For the first time ever, informal workers can accept job requests and access financial services and social benefits, offline via our USSD App. By the numbers: With these tools, we have successfully staffed the construction of schools, factories, and the country's national stadium. Fixa has on-boarded workers, creating over 8,000 digital career identities, connecting over 350,000 shifts, and disbursing over $2 million to the workers and their communities.  Fixa's development has been a journey marked by continuous innovation and a commitment to transforming the landscape of the informal sector.
