Women across Africa are leading the way toward a more sustainable agricultural future, yet many face hurdles that limit their potential. The VALUE4HER initiative, brought to life by AGRA in partnership with Impact Africa Consulting Limited, is dedicated to empowering these women with the tools and resources to not only grow their businesses but also to adopt practices that benefit communities and the environment. VALUE4HER offers women-led agribusinesses access to funding opportunities, specialized training, and vital market connections that help bring their products to a wider audience. Through this program, women entrepreneurs gain insights and mentorship to incorporate sustainable approaches, making their businesses more resilient in the face of environmental challenges. By sharing this message, you are helping to build a network of women committed to sustainable agribusiness practices. Together, we can amplify their impact, support green innovations, and create a thriving ecosystem of women who are not only scaling their businesses but are also champions of sustainability. Help us spread the word about VALUE4HER—an initiative designed to empower women and promote a greener, more sustainable future for agriculture across Africa. On Tuesday 22 October, Wavumbuzi concluded a Strategic Reflection and Planning workshop with the Ministry Of Education, Kenya (MOE) officials from Policy, Partnership and the East African Community, and Secondary Education, as well as the Teacher's Service Commission (TSC) KENYA. There was great appreciation of our journey in 2024, and setting the stage for what lies ahead in 2025 through the identification of key strategies to further scale in 2025 . Since our inception in 2019, Wavumbuzi has maintained a close partnership with the Ministry of Education as a key partner in this ecosystem building intervention. Some key highlights include: Deepended Partnership: A commitment was made to intensify collaboration between Wavumbuzi and the Directorates of Policy, Partnership and the East African Community, Secondary Education, and Quality Assurance and Standards. Within Secondary Education, officials offered to link Wavumbuzi not only with internal MoE units such as ICT, the Annual Science & Engineering Fair and the Arts, Drama and Sports, but also with external organizations such as UNICEF Kenya who are currently investing in computers and internet connectivity in the Turkana region. These collaborative efforts are crucial not only in further solidifying our partnership, but also facilitating nurturing a community to promote best practices in digitization, commercialization, and innovation support, ultimately catalyzing the scalability and sustainability of Wavumbuzi. Wavumbuzi Community: There was a call for Wavumbuzi to look into how best to support learners, who have been stimulated in Wavumbuzi to be problem solvers and value creators, in transitioning their innovative ideas and solutions. For those with tangible products, how best can they be guided to commercialize their innovations and patent their ideas where applicable? Increased Visibility: New opportunities have opened up for Wavumbuzi to raise awareness hence expand its reach and scale, particularly among junior and senior school principals. Whilst the Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge is running, the MoE committed to linking the Wavumbuzi dashboard for instance to their website and Kenya Education Management Information System (KEMIS). Further, Wavumbuzi Clubs or the Wavumbuzi Community engage in tree planting and growing, these activities will be recorded in the MoE portals. Additionally, reports on Wavumbuzi’s impact will be more widely publicized and Wavumbuzi invited to regional events. Roselyn Marandu-Kareithi (PhD), N. Njoki Kiama Riguga, Isaac Maweu, Wamuyu N.
