Building my one-person business to $10M in revenue and sharing everything I learn along the way.

Most people network like amateurs. Fix it by doing these 3 things: 1. Present yourself clearly: - Who are you? - What do you do? - Why pay attention to you? 2. Use a value-driven approach: - Solve their problem. - Send them something useful. - Support their business/project. 3. Become a connector: - Facilitate introductions - Help them level up their network - Become the go to 'connector' Most people mess these up. They make it all about 'Me! Me! Me!' Wrong. Building relationships is about THEM. If you're struggling to network & grow your LinkedIn audience, follow my blueprint to 600K+ close-knit followers: https://lnkd.in/eRU_Xnie Then, go build that networking muscle.

    Realigning...

I can't believe it's already been 2 weeks since LinkedIn Local - Kigali! Reflecting on the event, we had two insightful fireside chats and I'll share my main takeaways from them. The first discussed adapting to Kigali's culture and business environment with Sonia Iraguha. Sonia, who moved back to Kigali after living in Kenya and studying in Paris, shared her journey of starting Bicu Lounge. She highlighted that while the business environment in Kigali may not be as fast-paced as other cities, it offers orderliness, security, and a unique peace of mind for entrepreneurs. The other fireside Chat discussed building a professional network at any stage in your career. David Mubita and Claver RUSARO brought their wealth of experience to the table. David is known for his strong online and offline personal brand and he emphasised the importance of authenticity. He reminded us that a personal brand isn't about projecting a fake life online but about being true to ourselves in our digital and real-world interactions. Claver tackled some tough questions from attendees, addressing the culture of humility in Kigali where self-promotion is often frowned upon. He clarified that sharing our experiences and genuinely connecting with people, especially on LinkedIn, is not about bragging but about building meaningful relationships. These discussions were eye-opening and inspired both me and, I'm sure, many others. Thanks again to everyone who attended and made LinkedIn Local-Kigali such a memorable event. Fingers crossed, we'll be meeting again very soon! #LinkedInLocalKigali #Networking #Kigali

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻'𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗲𝘁. I have friends who open LinkedIn only when they need to change positions or post new certificates. And that's all. There is also a misconception about LinkedIn, some people regard it as a boring and intimidating platform. Yes, I admit that the content on LinkedIn may not be as funny as TikTok videos, but there is much more you would enjoy here. Last week I got the chance to shed light on the benefits of LinkedIn and help those who haven't optimised it yet. I was at home strolling around different social media networks when my sister Mayowa Kolawole reached out and said: "Hey Clever, I would like to invite you as a speaker at LinkedIn Local - Kigali" That was exciting, I saw it as a chance to shed light on how LinkedIn can help people build their personal brands and supportive communities through networking. 👍 So, I said yes to the invitation. Last Friday was D-Day and I couldn’t wait to join around 80 professionals, ready to explore the ins and outs of LinkedIn. Arriving at the event, Sonia Iraguha was about to take the stage, she enriched our understanding of Business Environments in #Rwanda. Later, David Mubita and I joined Mayowa Kolawole for a 2nd fireside chat -𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙉𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 & 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘽𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙣 𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙚𝙙𝙄𝙣 𝙖𝙩 𝘼𝙣𝙮 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙧. • This is so in tune with the initial theme: Global Connections, Local Bonds. 🙏🏾 Thank you for showing up and participating. We shall definitely see about a part 2 😉

What a night! Chidinma Rita Uzoma Rita's performance was the highlight of LinkedIn Local Kigali, if we do say so ourselves🎻 Rita's ability to blend modern songs with the electrifying sound of the violin was mind-blowing. Her performance left us all in awe and with goosebumps! (Especially when she snuck in the theme from Pirates of the Carribean) 🎶✨ #LinkedInLocal #LinkedInLocalKigali
